Our experience at this residence has been very positive and deeply compassionate during my mother's final days. Beyond the welcoming facilities, we would like to highlight the exceptional care and compassion of the management and the entire geriatric team. The treatment was always warm, respectful, and full of sensitivity. As a family, we felt very cared for and supported during a particularly difficult time. My mother was given the opportunity to pass away peacefully, with dignity, and surrounded by loving care. We are deeply grateful for all of this.

I didn't like it at all. Out of necessity, we had to leave my mother in the nursing home for a month to recover from surgery and undergo rehabilitation. After a month, she's become like a lizard; they haven't applied any cream, and she hasn't even drunk the water she normally does. After a month and the fortune the nursing home costs, no one from the management team came out to say goodbye or give her any instructions on how she was feeling. She arrived with bandages we didn't know what they were, and when we went to the health center, they told us they were wounds that no one at the center had reported, and she was dehydrated and had an infection that was almost unheard of. Now she's been hospitalized for almost two weeks due to a bacteria that was literally rotting her operated leg. In short, the experience was not good, and I don't recommend it at all.

Impeccable, clean, high-quality food for residents, and the staff are incredibly friendly. I accompanied a friend and was blown away. I highly recommend it based on what I saw and what people I know have said.

OPEN LETTER TO ALL THOSE WHO WORK AT THE BALLESOL VALTERNA RESIDENCE Sometimes, I'm even surprised that, in general, things work reasonably well. Houses don't fall down, cars drive, planes take off and fly, there's food in supermarkets and medicine in pharmacies, we have telephones, electricity, internet... Generally, at least in developed countries like ours, we can live peacefully. But it's also true that we constantly run up against our own mediocrity, our selfishness, the stupidity and shortsightedness of human beings. Time and again, at work and in social relationships, shoddiness, a lack of solidarity, indifference, and irresponsibility make a miserable appearance. Often, the less noble side of our personality triumphs. That's why, sometimes, I get a little depressed, and I'm even surprised that, in general, things work reasonably well. For those moments when I get a little depressed, I have a trick. Which, really, isn't a trick, because it's real: I remember moments, situations, projects, and institutions where it seems human beings bring out the best in themselves, the highest and noblest part of their souls. I, for example, remember the Ballesol Valterna Residence. As a widower, I took the mother of my children's mother there when the terrible Lewy body dementia was torturing her, and, therefore, torturing us. There, she found solace, peace, respect, and care. All the staff who looked after her provided that. Until, finally, she passed away. My mother also spent her last four years there, overjoyed to see us and feel our hugs, playing Parcheesi, cards, and dominoes with us, solving problems of least common multiple and greatest common divisor, and informing us that my father (who had passed away just before she entered the Residence) had just been with her and had gone to play tennis. Alzheimer's, in her case, was almost a blessing! I want to thank all of you who cared for my two loved ones, and who, consequently, cared for my children, me, and my other loved ones, even though we weren't residents. At no point during ten years of weekly visits (including virtual ones during the pandemic) did we witness the slightest neglect. On the contrary: your respect, care, affection, and dedication were always constant and unwavering. Professionally impeccable. Humanly admirable. Thank you for being not a gimmick, but a true example of personal dignity and moral integrity. Juan Antonio Peña Son of Carmen Bellver Son-in-law of Cecilia Hernández

Heartfelt thanks to Ballesol Valterna for 10 years of love and care for our mother, Juana. Today I want to express my deepest gratitude for the ten years our mother, Juana, spent at their center. From 2015 until her recent departure, she received exceptional love and care from the entire team. From the first day we visited the center and spoke with its director, Jesús, we knew we had found the perfect place for our mother. Jesús is a person with an admirable vocation, always concerned for each resident, getting to know them and ensuring their well-being. Ballesol Valterna is a truly wonderful place: spacious, with beautiful gardens for strolling, where we could share meals and spend time in our mother's room. Just as Jesús always said, it was "Mom's house," and that's how my siblings and I felt. It wasn't just a residence; it was her home. During this time, we saw our mother happy, surrounded by friends, and participating in activities we never imagined she would do, like singing or painting. Although her illness limited her participation in recent years, those memories are indelible. I don't usually write reviews, but after my mother's recent passing, I felt an overwhelming need to express my deepest gratitude. On her last day, my sister and I walked through the center, from her room to the gardens, reliving so many happy moments. It was a walk filled with nostalgia and affection. My siblings and I will always cherish the memory of Ballesol Valterna. Endless thanks to the entire team: supervisors, caregivers, medical staff, cleaners, and everyone else! And a very special thank you to you, Jesús. It's clear that a company flourishes when it has efficient, hardworking, and, above all, dedicated professionals like you. Thank you so much from my siblings, and I'm sure from our mother, Juana, in heaven! Hugs, Pepe
