Opiniones

My aunt was there for seven months, and it's worth highlighting how well she was cared for. The direct communication with the management and medical team was essential and seamless. Especially during her last few weeks in palliative care, the support and professionalism were once again commendable. They were serious, empathetic, and professional. Thank you for everything.

My father has been a resident for a year and a half. Throughout this time, the care he received was always professional and compassionate. I prefer to avoid mentioning names, as I might forget someone, and that would be unfair. Every six months, we were informed of my father's progress through meetings where a detailed report, prepared by the professionals responsible for the different areas, was presented, addressing his situation at all levels. The medical care could not have been better. They always made time to answer our questions and attend to my father personally. When we raised any concerns or observations, they were investigated and acted upon accordingly. I would especially like to highlight the work of the caregivers, who bear the brunt of the daily workload and are the face of the family. They have always been respectful, caring, and very hardworking, demonstrating great compassion. The areas designated for people with dementia or Alzheimer's are not overcrowded, and the residents are well cared for. In addition, the available resources have been expanded, incorporating various activities that can be done individually and independently. There are also free, well-organized activities and workshops that provide significant added value. The building is clean and well-maintained. Furthermore, the center allows families to share meals with the residents and celebrate their birthdays, which is very beneficial for families. As for areas for improvement, I would only point out two things: • Laundry: I am aware that it is a complex task to manage, but I believe it could be improved. I am unfamiliar with the most suitable system, although there is certainly room for improvement. • Outdoor areas: With minor repairs, these could become a very beautiful and peaceful environment. Simple details such as adding heather to the back, fixing fences, or improving the main entrance (new chairs and tables, pergola-style awnings) would make a big difference. I live outside of Spain, and yet, whenever I have needed anything, the center has responded promptly and readily. Many thanks to all the workers and I hope this opinion will be helpful to those who, like me a year and a half ago, find themselves needing to decide on the best place for their parents.

My grandmother has been at the nursing home for a while now, and we're truly happy. The staff is excellent; they're always attentive to her, and you can tell they care for her with love. We especially want to thank the social worker, who is always available, attentive, and does everything possible to help with whatever is needed. Seeing my grandmother so calm and happy there reassures us. Highly recommended.

At first, everything was fine; the treatment was appropriate, and we felt comfortable with the medical team. However, over time, they've largely ignored our residents. When we want to know when the geriatricians are coming, they don't tell us, and the first thing they say is that the doctor is on vacation, thus avoiding contact. We are outraged by the behavior of some doctors on the afternoon shift, who make comments like, "Why prescribe medication if the family is going to ask for it every time the person gets sick?" Such a lack of empathy is unacceptable. If people make comments like this simply for being concerned about the health of their loved one, things are bad. There are many highly qualified and responsible staff members. However, there are very few staff members on weekends, if any at all.

A million thanks to Vitalia Las Rozas. My father, after suffering a stroke, thanks to the best social worker at La Paz (Natalia Bautista) and after being refused admission by doctors at a medium-stay hospital, went to recover at Vitalia Las Rozas. His admission was quick, and the doctor (I'm so sorry I can't remember her name) brought out the best in my father (he didn't want to go anywhere but home, but unfortunately, in his condition, that was impossible). He entered happy and calm... something I couldn't have even imagined. The residence is perfect: clean, well-maintained, decorated, and modern. The outdoor spaces are idyllic, but the best thing is the people who work there, from the first to the last. My father wasn't an elderly person who came in because of loneliness; my family and I have always been there for him. But sometimes you need continuous care that you, as a daughter or family member, can't provide. I want to express my deepest gratitude to Dr. Álvaro and Dr. Cristofori, the geriatrician (I don't know how to spell it, but anyone who knows her will know I'm talking about her). They are a team that takes care of your loved ones. My father is alive today thanks to my loved ones, as if they were their own, and to the entire team of doctors, nurses... a million thanks... and to all the people who work there, the most beautiful and attentive receptionists, the supervisors Teresa and José (all heart, kindness, and availability). I had a very pleasant time with them. My father was in the Arguelles ward. Many thanks to his caregivers as well, and another special mention to the woman who had the hardest time—waking him up, dressing him, and bathing him—a caring woman. My criticism isn't of the people who work there; they do their job perfectly. The problem is how expensive it is to have your family well cared for and how long it takes for assistance to arrive. If your budget allows, Vitalia La Rozas is a very good option for peace of mind. By the way, the social worker Ruth is amazing. She may seem a bit serious or distant, but she's very good at her job. Thank you to the entire Vitalia Las Rozas team, I will miss you all... and my father surely will too... I'm sorry I'm forgetting many names, people who work hard and make a daughter's peace of mind possible... but know that your faces are in my thoughts...
