We would like to acknowledge the work of Salus Mayores for their commitment and the support they provide to our seniors and their families. After visiting several centers, we decided to take my grandfather to Salud Mayores, a difficult decision due to his refusal to leave the house. The professionals supported us throughout and made the decision easier for us, a decision we couldn't be more pleased with. A few weeks after attending, my grandfather's mood had changed, going from a firm refusal to eagerly awaiting the moment he could go to the Day Center. During my time working at Salus Mayores, specifically at one of their Day Centers in Pozuelo, I noticed certain dynamics that led me to compare the work environment to the Spanish TV show 'Sálvame' on Telecinco. The center's management lacks a professional approach. The director's friendly relationship with some of the caregivers resulted in preferential treatment, while other employees were overloaded with work. This situation negatively impacted the work environment, and it was the director herself who created it and seemed to enjoy it. The priorities were geared more towards a superficial image, such as posting videos on TikTok, rather than focusing on the well-being of the staff and the elderly residents. To say it's a dehumanized company is an understatement. I came home crying every day. You go to a Day Center to work professionally to improve the quality of life of older adults, not to hang out and behave unethically. This undoubtedly affects the quality of care they claim to offer.

A center with few staff and poor food, poorly cooked and cold. Lack of professionalism on the part of management. Constant staff turnover, overworked, and poorly paid. Seniors can't be a business.
