This residence, which from the outside appears to be what it is not, due to its large building, the gardens it has and the entrance, appears to be what it is not. I have had a relative for a year. The staff is friendly and attentive to both the residents and the family that we are going to see our relative, the biggest problem that this residence has is the great lack of staff. When we go on scheduled visits that last an hour, most of the time they cannot download it because there is no staff available at those times and when they do download it it takes so long that the time of the visit is reduced. The most significant thing is that there is not enough staff, which is also noticeable when you go up to the floors. I think that with the money that is paid, which is outrageous, the residents should be more attended to and cared for. The appearance, the gym or all the services there are are of no use if there is no one to care for our elderly people.

There are fewer and fewer staff members, some of whom are trainees and lack experience. At most, there are three people per hallway, and one of them is a novice. They have no experience seating residents with cognitive impairment, and there are practically no activities for those with limited cognitive ability. There are also new, inexperienced doctors. Nursing care is frequently charged separately. The salaries they receive don't reflect the quality of services provided. They should at least hire more staff—not just temporary replacements, but qualified personnel to address the specific needs of certain residents.

My relative is at the Nogales de Pacífico nursing home. I handed over his medical records along with his medication the day we arrived. The very next day, he went from taking two pills prescribed by his primary care physician to five that the nursing home gave him, but his medication wasn't among them... It's a long story... I managed to get them to give him only his own pills. I asked one of the "doctors" why they wanted my uncle's medication if they were going to give him generics. On December 13th or 14th, my relative went to his pharmacy (I refused to let him give his health insurance card to the nursing home) to pick up his inhaler, and to my surprise, the nursing home pharmacy had already picked it up, but not for him. He had to buy it himself. Who did that inhaler go to? Another mystery. Now I have a problem and a question: What do I do?

My mother has been in the care home for six months. She has cognitive impairment. Although it was tough at first and she and we struggled to adjust, all the staff helped and advised us during this transition. The staff on Princesa Street are wonderful and care for my mother with love and attention, understanding that they have to be there for everyone. My mother loves the food, and we're always on the lookout for any falls she might have. You can pick her up from her room and take her downstairs, or stay there with her. They've never given us any trouble. We're very happy with the care she's receiving. I don't understand some people's comments. Thank you very much.

I've had my mother there for a few months now, and my experience couldn't be more positive. The entire staff is wonderful, with a special mention to the caregivers at the Hermosilla Street unit: Azucena, Elizabeth, Marta, and Toñi (thank you for so much love and dedication to our seniors). A huge hug to the psychologist, Ana, who couldn't be more professional and caring... another to the director, Mercedes, always attentive to any request... to the social counselor... in short, to everyone. I know exactly what I'm talking about since I go to see my mother every day and witness the care and attention provided by each and every one of the people who work there.
