Opiniones

I admitted my 95-year-old mother with a broken hip for rehabilitation. They gave us a room where the call button didn't work, and the other residents knew it; they had mentioned it, but no one listened. The caregivers did what they could, but there weren't enough of them, and she wasn't properly cared for. Everything was rushed and shoddy. The food was bad, terrible quality. I was only able to care for her because my brother and I were with her morning and afternoon all month. The residence only has one cafeteria as a common area, and it doesn't open until noon. We took her out of there a month later with swollen legs and fluid in her lungs. They told me she was fine there, but then she was hospitalized for 15 days. It's not cheap, but the service they provide is appalling. I personally don't recommend taking anyone to this residence; it's not a good place.

We came here because I had hip replacement surgery and needed a short stay. My 88-year-old husband has mobility issues. We were treated with kindness and efficiency, and we felt very comfortable. The physiotherapy department is good; after two weeks, he was already walking without a walker. There's only one drawback: the food is generally good, but sometimes it's disappointing.

I am absolutely outraged by the appalling management of this care home. Leaving aside the countless deficiencies in the care provided to residents, they are completely incapable of ensuring the physical safety of those in their charge. This week alone, two residents have been hospitalized due to assaults, in addition to a series of other attacks on residents who are completely dependent and therefore unable to defend themselves. It is incomprehensible that the company that owns Bouco Loreto has not taken any action, and even more incomprehensible that the authorities allow it. On the other hand, my deepest gratitude goes to the caregivers and staff who dedicate themselves to looking after our elderly residents with such care and affection, despite also being mistreated by the management of the center.

Medical negligence and continuous incompetence. Complete lack of concern for the health or well-being of the elderly. If this is for a loved one, my advice: get out of here as fast as you can!!! A blatant example: a nearly 100-year-old woman with a recurrent urinary tract infection, exhibiting symptoms of the infection and experiencing disorientation due to it, was told they wouldn't give her antibiotics for another 10 days because they wanted to take a urine sample for a culture (????). We asked them to take it as soon as possible because she has Adeslas health insurance (they told us to handle all the logistics of getting the sample, but fine, we're doing it anyway), and they tell us—it being a Thursday—that they'll take it on Monday. That's putting her life at risk... We're risking sepsis. As soon as she recovers, we're getting her out of here. And much more... They refuse to provide rehabilitation (even if you pay extra), when you call they often take hours to come up, and so on and so forth.

Very bad... "Appearances can be deceiving" at Bouco Loreto, literally. We've had to change his residence. My father has Alzheimer's and is dependent, although he walks and eats well physically. He started on a floor where he was independent and then transferred, unnecessarily, to a coded floor, where he wasn't stimulated and didn't have access to any outdoor patio. The common hallway smelled of urine, and his personal hygiene was poor. For example, he would get poop all over himself. They took ages to come to the hospital, and they considered a quick wipe with a sponge to be sufficient, not a shower, and then his hands and nails would be left smelling and smelly. Several times, the pills weren't given. There wasn't good communication with the family, nor between departments either. There was high employee turnover and poor management. They didn't invest in caring for them as they should, so we had to pay for a caregiver when we didn't show up. All of this was escalated to management. There's a group of family members trying to change the care and dignity, but nothing changes because there's no staff. I understand the workload of caring for you, but this nursing home isn't up to par, so we couldn't take it anymore. Thanks to Pedro, a truly valuable assistant, and by the way, he's leaving now... By the way, I can't believe the positive reviews, I can't believe it...
