Opiniones

I'm a nurse and employee at the care home, and I felt compelled to write this review because I had to leave for personal reasons. I'm very sad to leave this place, as it's very difficult to find such a good team, both the coordinator and the management. They were always flexible with my schedule, as I work part-time at a hospital, and I had no problems making changes. I'm very grateful to the entire team, especially for the kindness I've experienced during my time here and how professional my colleagues are. It's a pleasure to work with such well-trained people who are always there to help, both with the care and the program itself. I'm leaving sad but very proud to have been part of this great team. Don't change, and continue treating everyone with the same care and affection you show every day. Best wishes to everyone, and once again, thank you for the wonderful treatment and the compassion you demonstrate.

I took my aunt to the Day Center this summer and she was happy with the treatment, the activities, and the staff (Rosa, Almudena). On September 11th, she was admitted as a resident, and everything changed. They say breakfast is at 8:00, but because they don't have enough staff, it takes hours to finish bathing the residents. The first two days, at 11:30 a.m., my aunt was alone in the bathroom, which was flooded, finishing getting ready. Two days later, she broke her hip, and five days before her discharge, I notified them of her arrival and spoke with Carolina, the doctor. She told me that she only had morning shifts and that there was no doctor in the afternoons (they hadn't had one for several weeks). When I expressed my concern, she said that the nurse and the rehabilitation specialist would receive my aunt. When she arrived, no one knew she had just had surgery. When I saw them moving her around, I was the one who mentioned it. After an hour of no one arriving to attend to us and two phone calls, Almudena finally answered and organized everything so that my aunt would be cared for in her new situation. When she became a wheelchair-bound resident, we realized the treatment was inadequate. They don't take them out to the garden. There's no daily shower. They wait in a hallway, parked, until someone else is dressed so they can go downstairs and make the trip worthwhile. When she went to bed, they put her nightgown on, changed her diaper without cleaning it, using wipes (which hadn't been washed all day), didn't take her to wash her hands, and removed her dentures, preventing her from rinsing her mouth. She told us several times that in the middle of the night they had to change even her sheets because they hadn't changed her all night. Two days after returning from the hospital, the afternoon shift left without putting my aunt to bed. We were with her, and at 9:45 p.m. we went out into the hallway, and the night shift was arriving. We complained to the director, and the waiting times were reduced for my aunt, but at the expense of another resident. The lack of staff prevents them from providing even minimal individualized care. Activities are only offered Monday through Friday, and only while the Day Center users are present. Residents with limited mobility are left in front of the entrance so they can be supervised, as there are no assistants in the common areas. Televisions play 24-hour channels all day. The staff have generally been good, but the management and organization are a disaster. On the 28th, we took my aunt out of the residence. They weren't giving her the protein shakes prescribed by the hospital for the anemia that required a transfusion. They told me it was due to distribution problems at the hospital. If they had told us, we would have bought them. All of this happened while we were with her morning and afternoon. They don't deliver on their promises.

This center, run by the Community of Madrid, is located in San Lorenzo del Escorial. The place is lovely, and the staff are incredibly attentive and kind. If you're looking for a place to leave your elderly relatives, this is a truly excellent option. Everything is top-notch and highly recommended. I visited a special person I care for there, and they were very well looked after. Thank God for all the staff at this center.

I want to express my gratitude for the time I spent at the center for my recovery. I received wonderful treatment from all the staff! Especially from Verónica the physiotherapist, the doctors, and the nursing staff. If I needed it again, I would gladly return.
