Opiniones

I absolutely do not recommend this place; it's a complete disaster. The only thing they're good for is giving you pills to make you feel completely drained. The manager is very nice, but then she doesn't follow through on anything. They kick you out before your check-out time, the food is terrible, and the service is even worse. They don't know how to treat or manage people. The rooms are nothing like the photos, and the breakfast, lunch, and dinner times are a mess. It's completely neglected and one of the worst places in the area.

I have nothing but words of gratitude for Director Mary and all the staff at the Nuestra Señora de la Luz Residence for the humane and professional care they have given my mother since she entered this residence. Leaving your mother in a care home is one of the hardest things one can do in this life (at least it was for me). I took my mother to this residence a few months ago, and she was physically and mentally broken. While the first two or three weeks were very difficult given my mother's resistance to accepting this new stage of her life (she is 90 years old), from the third week onwards I noticed a significant change in her. The horrible pain she had when she was admitted began to subside, and her mood gradually improved. Behind this change was the wonderful work of the director and all the staff at this residence, who, with great effort and affection, gradually helped my mother recover and earned her trust. Within a month of being admitted, she was already delighted and told me she felt wonderful and that the staff at the residence treated her with great affection. She said, "You know, this residence isn't so bad after all. I imagined it would be much worse, but honestly, I feel very comfortable." The facilities and services are fantastic. The interior is beautiful and very clean, and outside there are lovely, well-maintained gardens. From here, once again, my eternal gratitude to the director, Mary, and all the staff at the Nuestra Señora de la Luz Residence for the wonderful work they do with our elderly. It's priceless. Sincerely, Santiago Sanchez

I'm giving it one star because I can't give it less...horrible, my father was admitted because he broke his hip...he had a scar that they weren't treating properly, and when we went for the hip surgery check-up, the infection almost reached the bone...a disaster.

This residence, in all honesty, is completely inoperable. My grandmother was there and is still alive because we got her out in time. She came in talking, walking, and with mild Alzheimer's. Every time we went to see her, she was much more depressed. They excused themselves by saying it was typical of the disease. And whenever we found her with some kind of obvious problem, we had to tell them so they would do something, and even then, they didn't take care of it. Please tell the owners to stop making the elderly suffer.

The residence itself is very pretty, but otherwise it leaves much to be desired. There's no place where you can visit your loved one alone; they put four tables together, and everyone can hear everything you're saying to your family member. It's ironic that they require all the vaccinations and a mask to visit your relative, and then we're all together with them during visiting hours. I won't go into more detail about the appalling aspects because it would take too much writing. My mother is there because someone put her there; if it were up to me, she'd be somewhere else from the second day. I know other people who don't want their relatives there, but there are no other vacancies. I'm glad my mother is no longer there; she's improved since moving to another residence. Those who are independent might be fine there, but for those who can no longer manage, it's the worst of the worst. Some of the staff are truly awful; they'd be better off tending goats. I won't even mention the director. I filed a complaint about a staff member, and she practically blamed the family members and the resident. While I was there, my mother asked to go to the bathroom. I called for someone to take her, and she said right away. I left and saw through the window that they hadn't taken her. I went back inside and told them to take her immediately. The next day, I called the director to file a complaint, and what she said was, basically, that it was my mother's fault for needing to go to the bathroom. That's pretty much what she implied. Horrible! My mother asked us every day to take her out of there.
