La Residència per a gent gran Itaca presenta opiniones extremadamente divididas y preocupantes: mientras una familia destaca la atmósfera relajada, el trato afectuoso y las actividades enriquecedoras del centro, la mayoría de reseñas denuncian negligencias graves como falta de respuesta ante accidentes, ausencia de comunicación familiar en momentos críticos, personal poco profesional y empático, e instalaciones que requieren mejoras urgentes. For me, it's not just terrible, it's beyond awful. Years ago—and I don't know if the address is still the same, since I didn't live in Arenys then, and I still don't—my mother passed away in this nursing home. I only found out from someone who notified me on the day of her funeral, as my sister had moved her from another facility to this one and refused to tell me where she was. I suppose it was because she was the sole heir to all of my mother's estate, though she certainly made the most of her deceitful and manipulative ways. Anyway, here's the thing. I rang the intercom to find out what had happened, and they wouldn't even open the door, telling me I was a bad daughter, without even knowing me. I suppose this so-called sister of mine has already taken it upon herself to discredit me and spread completely untrue lies about me. And I ask myself, where is or was the professionalism, the education, and the decency of those people who treated me like scum without realizing that this so-called sister has a mental illness that, depending on where she goes, causes her to wreak havoc, speaking ill of me and anyone else she cares about? From here, I thank them for their lack of empathy, their poor professionalism, and their complete absence of psychological understanding in dealing with a person during such a delicate moment.

Our experience with this residence has been very negative and worrying. Our father suffered a fall in his room and was not treated as the situation required. As a result of this fall he is now hospitalized. The most serious thing was not only the accident, but the management: lack of immediate response and no communication with the family at a critical moment. In a center where there are elderly and vulnerable people, THESE TYPES OF NEGLIGENCE ARE UNACCEPTABLE. A residence must guarantee safety, immediate medical attention and responsible treatment. Unfortunately, this has not been the case. We do not recommend this center at all to any family who loves their grandparents.

I absolutely do not recommend this care home. The facilities desperately need a thorough inspection and a complete facelift. The staff is neither friendly nor attentive, and certainly not professional. There is a serious lack of humanity, empathy, and sensitivity. It is not a suitable place to entrust the health and well-being of our elderly loved ones.

The physiotherapist at Itaca was extremely rude. He's definitely a terrible physiotherapist too. I'm sorry to see what I saw, and he's still the same, getting worse every day.

The mother, Isabel, has been at the Residence for a year and has had a great time there. The relaxed atmosphere and the affectionate treatment are two of the qualities that we have appreciated, but above all the emotional bond that all the professionals create with the residents and the dedication and involvement they have in accompanying and stimulating them. The mother will undoubtedly take away very good memories, the boat ride, the radio interview, the cinema trip, the feminist readings of 8M and the best... the Tina Turner choruses! You are simply the Best.
