Opiniones

Very mean guy at the reception with no human skill. Dont know his name (the bald one). He treats people like you’re a child.

It's a relief to know that, despite being a private business, they prioritize the care of the residents. They meet the required staffing ratios, the staff is qualified (psychologist, social worker, physiotherapist), they feed the elderly residents properly (in their own kitchen), they offer activities (even in the summer), it's very clean, they treat residents with respect, there's plenty of natural light, etc. Unfortunately, we know of other senior residences that appear "very luxurious" but prioritize the owners' profits. I agree that those who invest in a business should be able to make a living from it, but this particular business deals with "very sensitive material" to whom we owe so much, and no effort or care should be spared. Respect and quality of life in their later years are the very least that can be expected, and I know that Residencia Barcelona delivers on that promise. I don't want to overlook the quiet work that the director of this center does to ensure that everything mentioned in the first paragraph works. Thank you.

A residence where residents feel almost at home. With modern spaces, attentive staff, and entertaining activities for everyone. I've been there many times and have always gotten the impression that it runs very well and that the people who live there are very happy and well cared for.

Our experience has been short (only 2 months) but we cannot be more grateful to all the people at the center. They have always had a kind word, always aware of everything, always professional, always a love for the residents worthy of mention. We only have one word, THANK YOU for all the love you gave to our mother Conchita

Watching your mother become unable to care for herself is hard, especially when you can't look after her because you live outside of Spain. The decision to put her in a care home was a joint one, as I never wanted her to feel abandoned or trapped. We visited several homes, and she chose Residencia Barcelona. She spoke with her future housemates and liked hearing that they didn't have time to be bored because so many activities were organized, but what convinced her most was a comment from a woman who had been there for several years. She said that from day one, the director called her by name, just like everyone else. My biggest concern was whether she could trust them, since my visits couldn't be frequent. Until I felt confident, I kept checking to see if I could trust them. During my visits, I could see that she was well cared for, and she was happy because they treated her like a hotel guest, not like someone without the capacity to make decisions. The video calls they arranged for me (she wasn't able to do it on her own) helped us both immensely to maintain our connection despite the ocean between us. Time passed, and finally, the inevitable happened. Throughout her final illness, I was always kept informed of her progress, and in the end, I was given enough notice to be by her side in her last moments. For this reason, I must thank the staff at the nursing home for the dignity they showed her during the final years of her life, not only with their professionalism but also with their compassion.
