Opiniones

Mom has only been there for two months, the last two of her life, but we have not had any incidents. At home it was a nightmare, every day a surprise, but at the residence we have found qualified and professional staff, who have known how to treat her and have respected her at all times. At Edelweiss, from the first day, they opened their doors to us in every way. It is a bright place, full of life and movement, with large spaces, a garden that is very appreciated when you visit, and also a natural environment where we have walked with the chair several times. The schedules and routines, the cleaning and personal hygiene, the activities (mom has not enjoyed them much anymore), made us feel that the environment was appropriate and friendly for her. The nursing staff is there every day, the doctor twice a week, if you found that it was stained or had gotten wet, you let them know that there was not enough time to go and change it! The staff is always doing things and in a good mood. Obviously not all staff are the same, but I can say that from first to last, from 0 to 10, the attention to the mother goes from 7 to 10. If I missed anything it is a bar/cafeteria nearby, or inside, where I could hang out with the mother during visits. I can't help but mention that I would have liked to be able to speak Catalan at all times, with the certainty that they understood me. I would say that 80% of the staff is Spanish-speaking and I preferred this language to ensure that communication was fluent. A shame, as always.

Many thanks to all the staff, to Montse the director and to Estibaliz the social worker, for having taken excellent care of my parents, with professionalism, empathy and love. I could not have chosen a better residence.

MY GREATEST DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! This residence is completely unprepared to care for people with limited or no mobility. One elevator for 70 or more residents, and when it's out of service—which happens frequently, most recently for several days in a row, coinciding with Christmas—it's unusable. When it's out, residents who can't go up and down the stairs are confined to their rooms and forced to eat whatever is available, which is unsuitable. The kitchen is a disaster; more food is thrown away than consumed. Two bathrooms, a total of four toilets for those 70 people throughout the entire day—it's far too few, and they're not wheelchair accessible. Don't be fooled by the "garden," which is nothing more than a paved walkway and plants used to hide the fence. And to top it all off, they advertise on social media that they have their own vegetable garden 🤣 It's FALSE!!! Beware of the pharmacy bills; they charge whatever they want and at whatever price they want. I don't know, but we were there for four months, and I wouldn't go back even if it were FREE. When we left, the director asked us for good reviews. Here they are!

I find it shameful that with the money we contribute to care for our elderly, the elevator problem is not solved. We have been putting up with this problem for a long time, leaving our elderly in their rooms without being able to take them down to the dining room or the reception rooms, offering them unacceptable food. How would we get the elderly out in the event of a fire? Safe exits given the condition many of them are in. In short, it seemed like a nursing home that does not deserve the name. I am very indignant about this and other issues that are not even worth mentioning. I hope that people who want to take their elderly people there think carefully.

My mother decided 3 months ago to change her life in old age, and move into a residence, where she would have company and good care in general. When she visited Edelweiss Valvidrera, she no longer wanted to go home. It was the best decision, she adapted immediately. The director, Mrs. Antonia, gave us the security and attention that we needed so much. Andrea accompanied us at all times and helped us find the appropriate room for my mother. Spacious, sunny with a large wardrobe and chest of drawers, a well-equipped bathroom. A good psychologist, Frank, has been of great help, as well as the doctor and nurses. My mother looks happy and relaxed. This Monday I had lunch at the Center with her. It was a very good meal, served by the assistant Angelica, a super careful attention. I thank you to the whole team, I have found a place for my mother, which gives me peace of mind, I know she is well taken care of. Maite Torres, daughter of Pilar Blay Herrero
