La Residencia Ciudad de Palencia presenta opiniones muy polarizadas que reflejan graves deficiencias según la mayoría de reseñas: problemas críticos de higiene tanto en instalaciones como en residentes, alimentación inadecuada y falta de servicios especializados (podiatría, fisioterapia, terapia ocupacional) constituyen las principales preocupaciones. Aunque algunas opiniones positivas destacan un trato acogedor y una buena gestión, estas se ven ampliamente superadas por denuncias de negligencia en cuidados básicos, trato inadecuado del personal y falta de profesional

Everything I'm about to describe makes it clear that I absolutely do not recommend this residence. To begin with, hygiene is clearly deficient. Both the cleanliness of the facilities and the residents themselves leave much to be desired. Showers are only provided once a week, and the daily hygiene that should be guaranteed is not always carried out. Furthermore, residents who use oxygen equipment do not receive proper cleaning of their nasal cannulas or filters, which poses an obvious risk to their health. Regarding the bedding and towels, the situation is no better. The towels are dirty, stained with blood or feces, and the sheets are in the same condition, which is completely unacceptable in a facility of this type. As for the food, the situation is no better. The purée served to residents in the first shift is usually prepared with leftovers from the second shift. They also don't bother to offer a second course to those who are still able to eat, and fruit is conspicuously absent. During the second shift, many meals follow the same pattern: dinners consisting solely of a first course, almost always soup, and a second course such as quince paste with cheese, unappetizing cold cuts, or frozen fried food. Fruit is almost always limited to apples or oranges and, in summer, melon or watermelon. There is no variety or balanced diet. Finally, the staff's treatment varies greatly depending on who is attending to the residents, but in general, it is inadequate. In some cases, residents are addressed by shouting, with contempt, and without the empathy or respect they deserve. Furthermore, some staff members are not trained to react appropriately in emergency situations. Likewise, a supposed podiatry service is advertised, but in reality, it is provided by aides or the nurse. A qualified podiatrist is only called on rare occasions. Occupational therapy is also unremarkable and is not provided daily, nor is physiotherapy. None of these services are individualized. Residents who need daily rehabilitation will not improve at this center, as they do not receive the necessary care.

It looks like a very family-oriented care home with good service. But it leaves much to be desired. Those on the first shift who require assistance don't always receive all their meals, as some staff members don't want to work. The hygiene, diaper changes, and attentive care are also inadequate. The staff members who were truly dedicated have left because they couldn't bear working in those conditions. And let's not even talk about the cockroaches and the current cook. Her hygiene is appalling.
