Opiniones

My father spent the last stage of his life here, battling a neurodegenerative disease. I will always be grateful to all the staff for the care they gave him and for their concern for his comfort and well-being. At his stage of life, my father didn't need grand halls, pianos, or gardens. This residence doesn't have them. He needed care. And that translates to people. Thank you, Luz, Bea, Ale, I will never forget you. Thank you to the rest of the team, Paqui, the doctor, and all the caregivers. To everyone. Never stop putting love and professionalism into what you do, no matter how difficult it is (and it is). They deserve it. You are the last "family" they find at the end of their days. You have a beautiful mission.

I took my mother to the Paseo de La Habana center and I couldn't be more satisfied with the attention and care she has received. From day one, all the staff were incredibly professional and kind. The dedication and empathy with which they treat the residents is truly admirable. The environment is very welcoming and clean, which has made my mother feel comfortable and safe. Furthermore, the activities and programs they offer are varied and designed to keep the residents active and engaged. My mother has made new friends and thoroughly enjoys the daily activities, from exercise sessions to afternoons of music and games. The quality of the food is also excellent, with balanced menus tailored to each resident's nutritional needs. Communication with families is constant and transparent, which gives me great peace of mind. I am always kept informed about my mother's condition and can visit her without any problems. I highly recommend this center to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring place for their loved ones. They have exceeded all my expectations and I am very grateful for the love and attention they give my mother every day.

DO NOT ADMIT YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS TO THIS PLACE. This residence is appalling. They never registered our father at the local address, nor did they transfer him to the medical center that corresponds to his location. They made us pay the full cost of all his medications, as well as diapers (two boxes every month), because they never made the necessary arrangements with the health center. They never suggested we apply for dependency benefits or financial assistance for his place. The Spanish caregivers were responsible; I can't say the same for the rest. The director, Gustavo, was politically correct, very money-grubbing, and completely inept at managing a nursing home for extremely vulnerable people.

I hope this helps you avoid leaving your elderly relatives in this center. Some of the staff are attentive and kind. However, due to the terrible management, there is no coordination among them. Consequently, no information is provided to family members. To attract you as a client (I say this because they've shown me that the residents there are clients with bank accounts), they make everything easy and helpful. But then the reality is quite different, and even the most basic procedure, like changing the resident's doctor (which was one of the things they promised to do), ends up being handled by you, and all you get are delays and unfounded excuses. And this isn't directed at Ana, who was the only empathetic and kind person I encountered there. If your relative doesn't require medical assistance beyond having their vital signs checked, if they are content to sit in a tiny room staring into space surrounded by people with varying degrees of dementia, advanced old age, or who are more or less independent, then this is the place for you! The residents know if it's morning, afternoon, or night by the intervals between meals, not because they're given any mentally active activities. Nothing. No mobility work at all... They're just sat down after meals and left like birds on a branch until the next meal (a phrase my relative used), who unfortunately had to endure it. But only for a short time because he was ill. Even so, he was fully aware of the complete lack of activity and the sedentary lifestyle. The sad thing is that he's passed away, and we didn't have time to change his mind. The good thing is that his stay there wasn't long, and he didn't have to adapt to that hellhole. In conclusion: Some people are simply incompetent and beyond their capabilities. I highly doubt this person (the center's director) has even the slightest training in dependency care, geriatrics, or anything similar.
