Opiniones

A friend of mine stayed at this residence for two years. She occasionally complained that she wanted more attention to detail. But what I want to emphasize is that in her final days, when she was in palliative care, the care she received from everyone was excellent. I am very grateful to all the people who looked after her.

Things disappear from rooms, and no one takes responsibility. My mother left a hearing aid on the nightstand, and it's gone. A nurse saw it, and when my mother entered the room, it was gone. No one takes responsibility for anything. When you think about bringing a family member, think about it. I made this comment a while ago, and to this day, things are still the same. After the hearing aid, two more have disappeared, and no one takes responsibility. They say that since she's older, she could have thrown them away. That's how they wash their hands. Things keep disappearing. A cap she crocheted has also disappeared, and no one takes responsibility. A nursing home disaster.

These words are for all the staff who care for our elderly, but especially for all the nurses, doctors, nursing assistants, social workers, occupational therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, cooks, cleaning staff, receptionists... of the Madrid Sur Residence and Day Center, for their professionalism, dedication, and love for the people they care for, the treasures of our families, the grandparents who have cared for us so much and whom we have chosen to entrust to the best hands. It's like when you leave a tiny baby at daycare, feeling apprehensive because you are entrusting your life to someone else. This is the same; at first, you don't know how they will be, if they will like it, if they will eat well, if they will be cared for as they deserve... But how lucky we have been... to have crossed paths with such wonderful people who, in these difficult times, do everything possible to ensure that all these people have the best possible experience, so that they are not afraid, and neither are their families. From making Skype video calls to belting out "Resistiré," to the phone calls to say everything is alright, that they're calm, and that we should be too... Thank you so much, because now you're like family, for reassuring the most vulnerable, for keeping them entertained so they don't have to think, for your kisses and hugs, and because you also have families to protect, and you end up protecting ours even more. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We applaud for you too.

I've been waiting for a response from the staff since January 2023 to call me. My father went one day and it was a disaster. The auxiliary staff are at the residence and aren't with the day care patients until 11 am. The cognitive decline of the people is very high, the place is small and sad.

I've only known him for a short time, and I think they should take better care of those who only go to the Day Center service in a different way. I don't know how he treats people in the Residence as such, but from the little I've seen and heard, he doesn't seem to be up to par, either in terms of treatment, management, or care.
