Opiniones

We brought my mother here a few months ago and we're delighted. The staff are incredibly friendly and professional; they're always attentive to her, both physically and emotionally. The facilities are modern and very clean, and the garden is an oasis for the residents. The food is homemade and high quality. It's very reassuring to know she's in a place where she's treated with such care and where her well-being is so important. Highly recommended ❤️

This nursing home doesn't directly refuse admission, but it does put up obstacles in very subtle and polite ways. For example, they suggest going to court to process an involuntary admission, when in reality they manage this process themselves with the court itself, as the judge and the coroner travel to the nursing home to conduct these assessments. I find it shameful that elderly people are treated this way. After speaking with them, they have left my mother without care, in the care of my father—a 70-year-old woman—who cannot adequately care for her. All very proper and polite in form, but ultimately unacceptable.

My mother was in the residence until April of this year when we brought her to Madrid to be closer to us. She was very happy with the warm and personal care, the excellent food prepared on-site with local, high-quality products, and the meat and vegetables from El Escorial. The advantage of it not being a large residence is the warmth and professionalism of the staff, who always create a special bond with the residents and their families. I don't want to name names because I'm sure I'd forget some, and I wouldn't want to. Congratulations to the team, and thank you. It's important for families to have peace of mind knowing that their loved one is in good hands.

My mother and I spent several years at the nursing home, and they always treated her and her family excellently. It has a very welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere, as well as being quiet. It's located near shopping areas and the countryside. I would like to thank all the professionals for their care and dedication over such a long period of time.

My personal experience at this residence: The Madrid regional government assigned it to us. We thought it was fine. My father had a wound that required care on the sixth day of his stay. He had a second-degree pressure ulcer. The nurse, Cristina Campos, told us it was just a scab. This scab, which she dismissed as unimportant, led to me having to make an appointment at the Puerta de Hierro hospital's pressure ulcer unit. When they saw him, they were horrified. This went on for nine months, with constant trips back and forth to the hospital for supervision. The management, Ms. María Lázaro, the center's director, treated us terribly. A real disappointment. The moment you complain about patients' rights, she declares you a problematic family. The moment Maria, the director, left, Cristina Jimenez, a new director, arrived. She knew very well that the place was a disaster, and she brought everyone into line—occupational therapy, nursing, you name it. I spoke with her personally, and she solved absolutely everything. It's a shame she left; the disaster started all over again. As for occupational therapy, I've never seen such a demotivated person in my life, someone so unwilling to work. Whenever you go there, they're just sitting down. Josefina is the only coherent person in this residence. We met twice with the center's management, seeking solutions and explaining that my father was going into the kitchen and laundry room, which is prohibited. It was like talking to a brick wall; that's how we felt. In one of those meetings, the center's doctor lost her temper, interrupting me with shouts and profanities. This happened in front of the director, and we were stunned. If this is how she treats family members, imagine how she treats the residents. Zero professionalism. Personal data: they gave us all the email addresses of the family members at the residence, so they completely disregarded data protection laws, including mine on several occasions. The last experience was sending my father to the hospital five times in less than a month to treat him as a psychiatric patient, even though he has cognitive impairment. We finally moved him to a different residence, and he's delighted since arriving. At Santa Gema, they scolded him for giving bread to the birds, for cigarette butts—basically for everything. The food is only good on weekends because family members visit. This new residence is fantastic; you can tell the management and staff have experience and are well-trained. My father describes Santa Gema as a prison, so our experience has been horrible, both for my father and for the family. Obviously, I don't recommend it. In response to Pepi González, ma'am, I visited my father every day, and you are wrong. The pharmacy had to correct my invoices because the amount they charged me was higher than what was on the invoice. I have proof of all this and could say more, but you already have enough. I'm responding to your "Maroto Maroto" comment. Whenever you want, I'll show you proof that would leave you so amazed you'd completely change your mind. Before you speak, make sure you know what you're talking about.
