I completely agree with all the negative reviews: dehydration during a heat wave, overmedication, and in just three months, death and untreated pain, even though it was prescribed. I hope they'll one day experience a quarter of the pain my father went through and not have a gelocatil on hand. I've informed the person in charge of the Community of Madrid, but I see they've done nothing.

I'm giving it one star because I can't give it less; it's the worst thing I've ever seen. My father entered this nursing home in February. The Community of Madrid assigned him this residence; it wasn't our first choice, but we all know how it works. They give you a first choice at the far end of the city, and you can say no, but you can't say no to the second choice. Our bad luck was that our second choice was the Queen Sofia Alzheimer's Foundation. They interviewed him, but their way of working is different. Even if the Community of Madrid assigns it, they decide if there's space for your specific care unit, and that's what happened—there wasn't. We went back to the system, and they assigned us Isla de Kos. The worst thing that can happen is that your relative has Alzheimer's and they send them there (we have no complaints about the auxiliary staff and caregivers), but the doctor and the head nurse, if you can even call them that, have no idea what they're doing. A week after my father arrived, they themselves told us they didn't want him because it was too much for them. From then on, it's been a constant in-and-out of the hospital: a long weekend, the hospital; Easter, the San Isidro long weekend; the staff's vacations, the hospital—since they don't give them space. They're given water and sedated so they don't bother anyone during the summer heatwave, dehydrated... The inhumane treatment of the elderly is shameful. To this day, we don't know who the management is because they haven't contacted us. Today, September 17th, my father is at the Queen Sofia Alzheimer's Foundation. Without them knowing, they've done us a favor. We were going to request a transfer after four months, and after six, he's already there. If my father had stayed there, he wouldn't be with us anymore. Today he's receiving therapy, walking on his own, talking, and most importantly, HE'S NOT SEDATED. If you can, please make sure this horrible place isn't an option for your elderly relatives... At least not while that "doctor" and that "nurse" (Paulina) are still there. You'll notice I didn't mention the social worker because having that person is the same as having nothing. They can save money and hire another assistant. The rest of them are doing what they can. There's total discrimination between private patients and those in the Community of Madrid. SHAMEFUL.

Don't even think about it. There's no concern for the people there. They don't even care if they're eating, if they're dirty, if they have their teeth. All they want is to medicate our elderly so they don't bother us. The doctor is a disaster, the worst, without a doubt. Without concern for his patients, he drugs them so they don't bother us. They overmedicate, and their explanation is that they have to adapt. Disastrous, without concern. My grandmother has been poisoned, medicated unnecessarily, just so she doesn't bother us. She hasn't eaten for over a month, and no one cared; they just worried about giving her all the pills so she wouldn't bother us. Shameful.

The worst nursing home there could be should be permanently closed. If you have family members and want to see them alive again, get them out of there now. That so-called doctor they have only knows how to overmedicate the residents and has ensured that my relative never sees the light of day again. GET YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS OUT OF THAT PLACE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

The worst nursing home. My grandmother entered the nursing home in January and today, April 27th, she died from being overmedicated with pills to relax her. There is no forgiveness for what that doctor did. She had gone almost a month without eating because my grandmother couldn't eat on her own, and they weren't able to give her anything to eat or drink. I can't express in words how polite it is to this man, to call him that.
