Opiniones

A relative spent exactly two years there. I wouldn't recommend it at all. The facilities are from the 1970s; doors, floors, walls, bathrooms... They haven't been renovated or painted in years. They promised to paint the room. It never happened. I offered to pay for the work out of my own pocket. No response to my proposal. They were left without hot water or heating the first winter and this winter. Incredible. The garden was completely abandoned. The terrace door didn't close properly. The best, or only, positive thing was the support staff, cleaning, kitchen, and reception. Attentive, friendly, and overworked.

I can't comment on the place as a nursing home, but I can comment on the director and the facilities I saw, including one of the rooms, since I went to visit them as a possible home for my mother. First of all, the place is not bad overall, but the facilities are outdated, and despite having elevators, it needs remodeling. The lobby has some rather old, though comfortable, chairs, and they have a chapel that is quite beautiful. The gentleman who helped me, who I believe is the clinic's doctor and also the director, was kind and tried to answer all my questions, but he omitted that they didn't have shared rooms available, only single rooms, and that it wouldn't be possible "because since her mother has Alzheimer's, it's essential to place her with someone who has the same condition... and right now there's no one." He'd know better than anyone, being a doctor, but as far as I know, Alzheimer's isn't contagious... and while the other person might not understand my mother's ramblings, if they're someone who rests well and isn't bothering others, I don't understand the problem. Furthermore, the price for the single room was different and higher than what was stated in the documentation they sent me by email, and quite exorbitant for my taste, considering the facilities (just over 2,600 euros without VAT, almost 3,000 euros). It's in Madrid and isn't a bad area, but when I checked out, I dismissed it because I think there are cheaper options right now.

Would I recommend it? Not at all. It's lacking in absolutely everything. The staff is very friendly and they do what they can, but it's impossible for them to manage everything with the staff shortage. The facilities are exactly the same as they were 30 years ago; the building desperately needs a complete renovation. The doctor is supposed to be on call 24 hours a day, but in our case, since it coincided with summer vacation, he was only there for a maximum of 1.5 hours a day. We even had to call an ambulance to take my mother to the hospital because she was getting worse and worse, and they told us the substitute doctor didn't think it was necessary. We took her in our car, and she was admitted to the hospital with COVID! An 88-year-old woman! And she already had pre-existing respiratory problems. The air conditioning isn't turned on before 12:30, lest the electricity bill go up. It doesn't matter if there are heat waves or the room's orientation. This was in the middle of July.

A truly excellent care home! The staff are incredibly professional yet warm and caring. The food is homemade and absolutely delicious. Furthermore, Eduardo Morejon's medical supervision is constant, as he visits my mother several times a day, both morning and afternoon. His monitoring and guidance regarding her medication are also very thorough. The group therapy sessions are an excellent complementary resource. And the other services (hairdressing, laundry, etc.) are also very good. My mother has improved tremendously since we admitted her last October, not only medically but also emotionally. The price of her stay is very reasonable given the average prices for this type of facility. Many thanks to the entire care home team! We will never forget how well our mother is cared for and the peace of mind we now have!

I can't describe in words how I feel about having my relative admitted to this center. The months have passed like decades. He's lost cognitive and motor skills due to overmedication and lack of resources. They sell you a product with services that they can't provide due to staffing shortages, even though the price doesn't match what the patient received. The facilities are like those of the Cuéntame era. I hope to be able to transfer my relative soon. I would never recommend it.
