Opiniones

(Translated by Google) The DOMUSVI nursing home in Outeiro de Rei (Lugo), to put it bluntly, is a real slaughterhouse. The treatment leaves much to be desired. My grandmother was hospitalized for about a month with a pressure ulcer, and we had to take her out of the nursing home. They don't feed them; they eat biscuits and oatmeal at all hours. They use the same bib—if you can even call it that, it's just a rag—for all the bedridden residents. There's no heating, and they don't do rounds to check on them (if they fall out of bed, they can stay there until they're attended to). Cleaning is nonexistent; they don't wash the residents' clothes, they don't change the sheets, and the staff isn't qualified enough to do their jobs (I doubt they have any officially accredited training). They charge exorbitant fees for services they don't provide (but they try to sell you the idea that they offer wonderful services). There's a lack of organization on the part of the staff, as they are incompetent, irresponsible, and negligent doctors (they contradict themselves). And they're liars. They don't care about the elderly, as they don't make daily rounds to check on them (we arrived and found our grandmother uncovered with everything scattered about). The staff is incompetent, the doctors negligent (in our case, they let my grandmother rot, as they didn't attend to her, and every day I went to see them, she was thinner). It no longer seems normal to me that you can't visit them, for example, at mealtimes, because of course they don't feed them and don't even bother to. IF YOU EAT, YOU EAT, AND IF NOT, YOU LEAVE. Not even dogs would eat the food, but they try to sell you an excuse. On the other hand, they tell you they have MEDICAL SERVICE every day, when in reality THEY HAVE NOTHING. The current director, Belén, knows nothing, and if she does, she's ignoring it. She doesn't know how to manage a care home, nor does she have the slightest interest in overseeing the disarray and disorganization. I think my grandmother spent €2,500 a month to be treated like a hotel guest. I don't understand how it can't function properly, feed the residents well, and keep them clean, because the facilities deserve it. And in reality, THIS CARE HOME IS ONLY INTERESTED IN PAYMENTS, NOT THE PEOPLE. They should do more inspections of care homes, especially private ones. But also, we leave our elderly in these places and then forget about them. And that's the problem: since nobody visits them—and I'm referring to the inpatient ward, which is the one I know best—nobody complains. And those who are reasonably well are welcomed in the lobby, so as not to raise suspicion. WHAT THEY'RE AFTER IS PROFIT; they don't care about the people. We must remember that THANKS TO OUR ELDERS WE ARE HERE, AND THAT THEY DESERVE EXQUISITE TREATMENT IN EVERY WAY. WE NEED TO THINK ABOUT HOW WE WOULD LIKE TO BE TREATED WHEN WE ARE OLD, TO PUT OURSELVES IN OTHERS' SHOES. REGARDING DOMUSVI'S RESPONSE, EVERYTHING THEY SAY IS A LIE. IT'S IN THEIR DNA. IF THEY WEREN'T EVEN PROVIDING THEIR CARE, THEY COULD HAVE DONE IT WHILE THEY WERE ALIVE. THEY SHOULD ASK THE LUCUS AUGUSTI HOSPITAL. THEY SHOWED SIGNS OF MALNUTRITION AND SEVERE UNDERNUTRITION. THEY'RE LUCKY WE'RE NOT SUING THEM FOR NEGLIGENCE.

During our aunt's stay, we were able to confirm that this is a highly recommended residence, thanks to the attentive care provided by the caregivers and medical staff, as well as the professionalism and compassion of the center's social worker. The facilities are spacious and comfortable. Our aunt's comfort and satisfaction there further reinforces our high opinion of the center.

Our mother was there for three years and a little longer until we were able to move her closer to home, and we don't know how to express our gratitude for all the love and care she received. The entire staff at the Domusvi in Outeiro de Rei is a 10/10! From the cleaners, the assistants and geriatric nurses, the nurses, the receptionist, and the social worker, to our beloved Belén, whom we never knew could have driven her crazy, and Mariluz, who always treated us with such patience and love! And Sandra, who is the joy of the garden (sorry if I forgot anyone, but you are all part of this wonderful team). We were sad to say goodbye to all of them, but happy to have our mother closer. We send you a huge hug and kiss. You will always be in our hearts for your humanity and kindness... Cris and Cruz

I had my mother for a few weeks and loved it. The treatment, empathy, and professionalism of Belén, the social worker, were unbeatable, thank you! But I also can't forget the other staff, receptionists, nurses, etc. I wouldn't hesitate to admit my mother again, even though I didn't have a good opinion of these nursing homes, but I was completely wrong. Thank you for everything!
