Opiniones

Apparently, the residence is fine. Good facilities, a nice environment, and wonderful staff, but the care for the residents is poor because they don't hire enough caregivers; there are very few, so they are extremely overworked, which affects the elderly residents, making them very agitated. To calm them down, they increase their medication dosages. The residents suffer many falls as a consequence of everything mentioned above. There is a nurse, whose name I won't mention, who treats family members and sometimes residents terribly due to neglecting treatments, which causes certain illnesses to worsen. As for the management team, if you're not one of them, the treatment is mediocre, verging on bad, and arrogant. Initially, I thought the foundation was a social outreach program of the Brotherhood of the Last Supper, but it's the opposite; they divert money from the residence to the brotherhood. For example, the year the Virgin Mary wore a new mantle, the monthly fee increased by almost €200. A proper workplace inspection is needed to see how the workers are treated. For all these reasons, I do not recommend the residence.

I would like to express my gratitude for the care and attention given to my brother during this very difficult past year. He has felt treated like family, with the same care, attention, and affection shown to him. Many healthcare and social service professionals who work with this residence daily have told us that the care is exceptional, possibly because it is a foundation and not a private company. Thank you very much.

We would like to share our experience and publicly thank the team of professionals at this nursing home. Our brother has lived there for almost a year, and from the very beginning, the care and attention he received have been excellent. We can speak from experience because we have spent a lot of time with him, in the facilities, every day, and we have seen how he interacted, felt safe, and convinced that he wanted to be there. We have also witnessed the professionalism and compassion with which he was treated. Throughout this time, we have also maintained constant communication with the team of professionals, and even in the worst moments, we have felt supported and supported, with countless displays of affection. For all of this, our most sincere gratitude. Brothers and sisters of Jesús Isidro Galindo Ruiz.

I always believed that putting your parents in a care home was the best option when you could no longer care for them properly at home, and if I could go back, I would change my mind and wouldn't have taken my mother there when her condition worsened after her first stroke. This care home had very good reviews, and when my father and I went to the interview and explained my mother's situation, they led us to believe that she would be well cared for and looked after there—what a deception! The very next day, they were already calling to complain about her, without considering that she was ill and in a strange place. They didn't know how to care for her or protect her from the multiple falls, nor did they understand the behaviors typical of debilitating illnesses. Worse still, they didn't give her the correct crushed medication she needed, which caused her to miss doses and severely affected her behavior and, ultimately, her health. She was only there for a month, but we didn't have a single moment of peace during her stay. We didn't feel supported at all during the difficult time it was for us to put our mother in a care home, and they kept us anxious and constantly worried every day, wanting us to take her home. The staff (psychologists, social worker, nurses, physiotherapist, director) didn't provide her with the necessary care, quality of life, and well-being that such special people require, as they promise on their website. If you want peace of mind knowing that your loved ones are well cared for and attended to according to their level of decline, I absolutely do not recommend this care home. We experienced a true hell, not only us, but also my mother during her last month of life.

My mother entered this nursing home on January 12, 2024, and we buried her on February 21. She had stage 6 cognitive impairment, and what she and the entire family experienced in those thirty-something days was pure hell. Five days later, they told us the facility wasn't suitable for my mother. When we signed a four-month adaptation period, they showed a lack of empathy and professionalism from the start. Her medication wasn't given correctly, even though we insisted on the importance of taking all the doses. They didn't know how to treat her cognitive impairment or its symptoms, such as agitation and impulsiveness, and they didn't give us a single day of peace, which was what we wanted for her, for my father, and for us. I only recommend that if anyone is in a similar situation, with a family member suffering from dementia, Alzheimer's, or some other type of cognitive impairment, they not take them to the Caridad y Consolación Residence because they don't know how to treat the disease, the patients, or the families. I wouldn't want anyone else to go through what we've been through. And to all the staff who didn't treat my mother appropriately, who was very sick, I don't wish any harm on them, as they already have it inside them.
