Opiniones

This care home is terribly managed. Although most of the caregivers are lovely (as are the reception staff), there are very, very few staff members to care for the residents. At night, there's hardly any care because they're severely understaffed, which is risky for the elderly. If you call, you're lucky if you get through to reception, but the call just dies there because the rest of the staff either don't answer or are "in a meeting." The same thing happens if you try to contact them by email; reception says they'll notify the appropriate person, but in the end, no one ever replies. Before you arrive, they're all smiles and respond quickly, but once you're inside, even though they respond politely, they completely ignore you. The truth is, if you compare the services they offer before you sign up, what they charge, and what you actually receive... the result is appalling. There's a reason they always have vacancies while other care homes are full with waiting lists.

Since they took over the residence, everything has gone downhill. They haven't covered staff vacation time, resulting in a decline in resident care. We collected signatures to request a meeting, and they're all nice, but we're still the same. At 5 p.m., my mother and another resident were still in bed when we go in every day at the same time because there was only one assistant who couldn't handle everyone. There are supposed to be two, but now there's only one, and another one who helps the entire floor, which isn't enough, and in this case, they couldn't even find him. Other times, she's poorly dressed or seated, and there's no one on the floor with her. A series of absurdities that go unsolved and unheeded.

My mother passed away yesterday at the nursing home. She had been there since July 2023. We are very grateful. She was on the ground floor and these last few months on the first floor. She was always treated with a kindness and gentleness that was always appreciated. In such a hard and physically and emotionally demanding job, having that attitude, as if you were caring for your own grandmother, is exceptionally valuable. Nothing could be better than this for such a vulnerable person. I spent my last night there with her, and they welcomed me with a kindness and warmth that did me so much good during that difficult time. Thank you so much for everything.

Placing my father in a nursing home has been one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make, but I also believe it was one of the best, especially the choice of facility. From the initial visit to the Clece Vitam Bastiagueiro facilities, my doubts gradually dissipated, but it was once he was admitted that I realized the nursing home's most valuable asset: its staff. The care my father received and the relationship with the family were incredible. They kept us up-to-date on his condition, which was quite delicate, at all times, reassuring us that he was receiving the best care. I could go on and on about the work of all the staff, but to sum up I would like to congratulate the entire team at the center for the work they do (in this case with my father) and give my most sincere thanks for the attention given to the family by all the staff, always with a smile and extraordinary delicacy, without wanting to underestimate anyone, I would like to show my special thanks to Yolanda, Paula, Kevin... for being the people with whom I had the most contact, but I reiterate the excellent treatment and care of all the staff.

They made my father wait two hours to see an old friend who is a resident at this care home, only to tell him that the psychologist said the woman "wasn't ready" for visits. They completely disregarded all the legal protocols for preventing visits. A psychologist is arrogating to herself the right to decide who an elderly woman can see, without any supporting medical report, such as a disability certificate or anything similar. We will investigate whether they have complied with the standards set for care homes at the regional and national levels. We will also inform the local press and TVG (Galician Television) that this care home is arrogating to itself the right to prohibit visits based on the opinion of a supposed psychologist.
