La Residència geriàtrica L'Estada recibe críticas muy severas sobre el trato a los pacientes, las instalaciones deterioradas y la falta de supervisión, con múltiples denuncias de negligencia, malos tratos y condiciones insalubres que contrastan significativamente con comentarios positivos sobre la atención de enfermeras y auxiliares en aspectos puntuales. I'm giving it a 0. My father was admitted by the Mataró hospital for leg rehabilitation. Unfortunately, he died in this nursing home. The treatment was inhumane. Two days after he was admitted, we found him with bruises on his buttocks and a bruised, bitten tongue. He told us that at night they yelled at him and insulted him because he complained of leg pain. They even isolated him in a room by himself because they said he was bothering the other patients. I could make many more comments like this one. In the month my father was in that place, it was hell for everyone.

The distribution of patients is not controlled, so that they are comfortable with each other, the rest is very good attention from the staff, but the management does not control the distribution of patients in the rooms.

The rooms need new furniture. Cleanliness is good. The nurses and assistants are attentive to the patients, although you have to be careful with transfers to external doctor appointments (at the hospital), because they take them out without checking that they are dressed warmly, even though it's very cold in winter. More information is needed about the patients' progress; if you don't make an appointment, the doctors don't contact you. The common area in the non-private section is very small, with everyone crammed into 20 square meters, since they tell you that you can't go to the private area. Luckily, there's a nice terrace that's very pleasant on sunny days. The food is good, although for special occasions it's not the menu advertised on the notice board (at least not for those in the non-private section). The rehabilitation and entertainment are good.

Our experience during the stay was disastrous, my mother was there for 3 weeks and we requested voluntary discharge. The facilities leave a lot to be desired, broken furniture, dirty walls, etc... I don't understand how inspections happen. At a health level, only the nurses and assistants are spared.

My mother spent three months in the long-term care unit of this center. Oddly enough, when she arrived, I saw a closed parasol in the downstairs hallway. When I opened it, I discovered a wasp nest. I told the assistant, who said she would report it, but my mother left the center and the wasp nest is still there, right in front of the patients' windows. Mari Carmen, walking down the hallway, either trips or falls because she's not supervised. Sometimes family members have had to help her avoid tripping. In general, there's no supervision of the patients. The assistants complain that they're overwhelmed, which is true, but they're also the ones who say things like, "I don't know, wasn't I there when it happened?" The doctor seems uncomfortable when you call her or simply doesn't tell you anything about the follow-up. The experience with the doctor was perfect; he was more humane and concerned about patients. I thought a social care worker would have better control over health, but this one, at the slightest problem, just puts patients in bed and, of course, puts on protective gear to make them even more nervous, when with more supervision... I hope my comments help improve the service they provide.
