It's a residence with restrictive hours for residents. Management doesn't accept suggestions for improvements for residents or visitors. They don't open the main lounge so residents and families can relax comfortably, forcing everyone to crowd into the entrance hall. They offer few activities for the residents, who basically just spend their time looking at each other. They don't invest in improvements, such as awnings for the gardens and terraces in the summer. They don't have a generator. The power has gone out several times, and residents have had to be carried to their rooms and eat there. The only positive aspect is the kindness and affection of the support staff, unlike the management team. In short, it doesn't feel like home for the residents, but rather like an old-fashioned nursing home.

There's no choice; Las Palmeras Residence is the only one in Candeleda and the surrounding area, so it has no competition. The auxiliary staff are friendly and attentive, which is the best thing about the residence, which could be wonderful if everything they advertised were true. They don't have a hair salon. They don't have a chapel. They don't offer mud baths, paraffin treatments, or electrotherapy. The visitors' room is the entrance to the residence. The large garden area is the parking lot, meaning there is no parking. Family members are not allowed in the main lounge, which also serves as the playroom.

I'm giving it 5 stars because there aren't any more. The staff is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about the residents. In my case, I had to bring my grandmother in prematurely, and they made everything so easy. From the social worker to the director, everyone was so kind and helpful. They answered all my questions, and there were many, and they explained the terms and conditions in great detail. The reception staff—night, morning, and afternoon shifts—are all wonderful. You can call as often as you like to get in touch; they send photos and videos, and they provide you with all the details you need… everything is top-notch. We are absolutely delighted. Thank you so much!

My mother entered the nursing home on November 7th, and on January 22nd, they called me to say she had passed away. They still haven't told me what she died of or how it happened. I live in France and knew she wasn't well with the flu, but the staff kept calling me to say she was fine. I'm so sorry and deeply saddened that they didn't call me, knowing she was very ill and my mother sitting in a chair all day because they wouldn't let her in her room. She was in her chair until the very end, unable to even speak. They have all the elderly people downstairs, but they can't move from there. I wouldn't recommend that nursing home to anyone.
