Despite the less-than-stellar reputation of SAVIA residences, I want to emphasize that there are always exceptions, and this is one of them. The staff is professional and compassionate, starting with the director, Inma. However, I must highlight the attitude and competence of Dr. Carlos, who, unusually, is dedicated to the well-being of the residents and is very considerate and caring towards their families.

Hello, I'm Elena, and unfortunately, my mother Rosario López passed away three days ago. She had been in the nursing home for a year and a half, and I wanted to publicly express my gratitude, along with my family's, to the entire nursing home staff. I have to thank the doctor—Carlos, you're wonderful—the nurses, the assistants. Many names to mention, but in general, there's a wonderful team. The cleaning staff... These have been very tough days during which my mother was ill and gradually faded away until we were left heartbroken. I was able to spend a few days inside, where I have to thank all the staff for the tremendous love and support we received, both my mother and my family. A thousand thanks for the night of August 30th, when the nurse, Joan (we love you) and Loli (thank you for your care and affection), never let go of our hands. With great professionalism and love, they spent the whole night giving us their warmth, and we will never forget that. As I told the director, Inma, on the phone, she can rest easy because she has a great team. Adrián (very great!), thank you, thank you so much for your support and for not letting go of my mother's hand. Alya, Rocío, Héctor, Celia, Carmen, Nuria (thank you for so many visits to check everything was okay and for giving us those hugs). Ana, Fátima, Isaac, hairdresser, Esther, Rosa Primi, Jessy (those last spoonfuls of food thanks to you 😭), Rosmery (thank you for protecting Mom), reception, Gaizka... I'm sorry I don't remember all the names, but THANK YOU to all of you from the bottom of my heart. I'll never forget you because you treated my mother with such love. Sorry for those I haven't mentioned, but this goes out to everyone. With much love. Elena and family ❤️

I waited three weeks before writing this review. I witnessed firsthand how the caregivers treat all the elderly residents with such tenderness and affection, as if they were close family members. Their dedication to their work, their duties, and the cleanliness of the facility is remarkable. My experience has been more than pleasant since I first arrived with my mother, Leonila. The attention has been incredibly warm and caring from ALL THE STAFF, from cleaning and hairdressing to social work, management, reception, the doctor, nursing, and psychology—even the vending machines work perfectly. I go every day, and my mother always smells wonderful. She feels happy and included, and despite having Alzheimer's, she has a different demeanor; you can tell she feels cared for. My gratitude is boundless. Seeing them tackle this difficult task every day with such passion, joy, professionalism, humanity, and empathy—qualities that are so hard to find these days—makes my return home so much easier. This work is invaluable; they deserve the world, which they have surely earned. There is no reward enough for what they do every single day. Thank you so much.

I'm giving it one star because I can't give it zero. It was the worst experience, and I wish we hadn't sent my mother to that nursing home. Because it was close, we could have visited her every day and fed her ourselves, but what we saw there... it was a house of horrors. No matter how many times we complained, it was useless. The medical service was practically nonexistent. They didn't even change diapers. Every time we went, my mother was wet and had soiled herself, and they hadn't changed her. In the three months she was there, she became dehydrated three times, she was dependent, and they wouldn't even give her water. She only lasted three months because we went to feed and give her water. They put her medication in a bowl of food, and since they didn't feed her, she wouldn't take it. "Abandonment" is too kind a word to describe what the elderly people there go through. They treat them like vegetables. We talked to other residents who were doing well, and they told us, "Get her out of there now." But we didn't have time because she died before we could. I would never in my life entrust the life of a vulnerable person to this residence where they are completely unprotected.

I'm writing this review because I share Pilar Alonso's opinion. My mother is also in this Savia Quartell nursing home because of the positive feedback we received from the director, Olga. She's no longer there now, for unknown reasons. The new director is Inma, and I'm certain she'll do everything in her power to properly manage the nursing home, but what she won't be able to do is ensure they provide more resources for the care of the elderly, such as more doctors per number of elderly patients, etc., since this is handled from the highest levels, and the philosophy is less resources, more profit, without taking into account that they're dealing with people who aren't well and that, fortunately, most aren't aware of what's happening. However, there are family members who are there to safeguard their well-being because they are our loved ones. If this has an impact, let it not be on the staff who do their jobs well, but rather on providing them with the necessary resources so they can do it happily and with the knowledge of the good that others can do.
