Opiniones

My grandparents are in this care home, and unfortunately, my experience has been very negative. The problems aren't isolated incidents, but rather ongoing issues over the years: a clear lack of staff, overwhelmed workers, and utterly inadequate care for dependent individuals. I've even found my grandmother in an unacceptable state of hygiene, without any attention for hours. On one occasion, she was left unattended for over three hours without being moved, with the excuse that "protocols" required two people to operate the hoist. After complaining, she was finally moved by a single worker, demonstrating the inconsistency between what is said and what is done. When I requested the official complaint form, they initially gave me a simple company sheet of paper, trying to pass it off as valid. Only after insisting did they reluctantly provide me with the official form required in any establishment. My grandfather is currently hospitalized with dehydration, kidney failure, and pressure ulcers (on his buttocks and heel). Weeks earlier, she had fallen out of bed because it lacked side rails, a particularly serious problem for someone with reduced mobility. Furthermore, dependent residents are rarely moved or taken for walks. This lack of stimulation and movement causes those who still retain some mobility to lose it rapidly, worsening their physical condition and quality of life. It pains me to have to write this, but I feel it's necessary to warn other families. A care home must guarantee care, dignity, and safety, and in this case, unfortunately, that is not being the case.

The La Oliva nursing home is so famous, yet they've been without air conditioning all of August. Just this week, three elderly residents have fallen ill. It's the least that could happen, because those aren't acceptable conditions for an elderly person, who's still being paid their pension for being poorly cared for there—and it's not like they're being cared for very well. I know this firsthand because I visit my grandmother there every single day. Fix the air conditioning, or you're going to face more than one complaint.

It's so beautifully advertised! So many things! What they advertise is nothing like what it's actually like. My mother lives there, and if I could, and if it were that easy, I'd take her there right now. If you complain, an employee tells you that she takes her own children to a daycare and doesn't like it, that she'd switch them. I think she's in the wrong job; I'm quite sure of it because she doesn't know how to treat either the residents or their families. You can't let them soil themselves because they won't take them to the bathroom. You can't keep them sitting all day, and if they need to be moved, it has to be in a wheelchair. They can walk, though. If they're moved like that, they lose what little mobility they have left. All I can say is that I curse the day I decided to take my mother there because of how terribly they treated her, and I bless the moment I was able to get her out. She's a different person now, and she's smiling and enjoying life again. May everyone get what they deserve in that awful place.

My father spent two years in the residence and was delighted with the treatment he received from his caregivers. I have no complaints and, moreover, I recommend it; the staff is wonderful.

It's so beautifully advertised! What a variety they offer! But what they advertise is nothing like what it actually is. My mother is there, and if I could, and if it were that easy, I'd take her out tomorrow. An employee told us that when she takes her children to a daycare and doesn't like it, she changes them. And I tell her, well, you've chosen the wrong job because she doesn't know how to treat the residents or their families. You can't be so bad-tempered and have such terrible manners. You can't let the residents soil themselves because you don't want to take them to the bathroom and then leave them there. You can't keep them sitting all day and move them around in wheelchairs because they lose what little mobility they have. And don't tell me she takes them out in the sun every day because at most, it's once a month, and...
