A cousin of mine moved into Domusvi Santa Justa to recover from a hip fracture. She had applied to two other residences, but after experiencing the facilities at Domusvi and the wonderful treatment she received from all the staff, she didn't want to go anywhere else. A few months ago, I completed my internship at this care home as an Occupational Therapy student, and I couldn't be more grateful for the experience. From day one, I felt very welcome by the entire team. I especially want to thank all the staff for their dedication and compassion towards the residents. It's not only important to learn how to work, but also to learn human values, and above all, respect and kindness towards our elders. Finally, I must acknowledge the importance of occupational therapy in the daily work of this community, which I learned from the occupational therapists who work there. I am grateful to them for everything I learned thanks to their dedication and for conveying to me the importance and value of this profession.
