Opiniones

I'm sharing my experience to help prevent the distress caused to vulnerable elderly people and their families by subjecting them to a suitability assessment for admission. I understand they have their admission criteria—they're a private entity—but I don't agree with their method. They don't care about scheduling multiple appointments with a family member, offering admission whenever it suits them. They show you the facilities, selling you the "product," and treat you as if you're going to be admitted, only to then tell you there's no space. Three days later, they call again saying there is. I warn them that if I'm not suitable, that's fine, but they shouldn't make me come for nothing, given the disruption it causes. They insist, and when we arrive, the moment we walk in, they give us a sour look and offer multiple excuses that were obvious from the first visit. I think they should be much more sensitive and careful. They need to consider that this is a difficult time, and that they're playing with the expectations of vulnerable people and their families. I don't know the quality of the service, but I don't think the admission system is the most appropriate.

Nursing home. A beautiful old building in a lovely spot in Tui, next to the Niño River. It's run by nuns, and the elderly are treated very well.

They treat the elderly with affection and respect

I called and was answered by a rude woman who, in my life, was definitely not a nun... I wonder how she'll treat elderly children...
