On February 11, 2026, I called to inquire. They tried to transfer me to administration. They told me to call back after 1:00 PM. I called up to three times over a fairly long period. No one bothered to answer my calls. It's sad that this is the kind of service they provide.

REGRETTABLE. My father's worst years until we discovered him and got him out of there. This Águilas Railway Pensioners Residence lacks trained and vocational personnel, and an absolute lack of transparency with respect to all procedures, from the doctor, nurse and pharmacy to administration and management, unfortunately passing through the auxiliaries, where verbal and emotional abuse is normalized: "what's happening, what do you want now, you're just talking nonsense." I have seen residents routinely sedated, ignored, and not receiving the care they need. Quality care is non-existent, which is why I do not recommend this residence to anyone.

Reading the latest reviews of this care home fills me with sadness, and I feel compelled to share my father's experience. He entered with complete physical and mental independence, but within two years he was totally dependent, wearing diapers and confined to a wheelchair, which led to bedsores and depression. And what can I say about the management, the doctor, the nursing staff, the pharmacy...? Awful. In fact, the doctor who treated him in the emergency room at the Lorca hospital asked me where I was from because, in addition to pneumonia, they also discovered two broken ribs and a severe vitamin D deficiency; that's just one example. As soon as I took him out of there, he was walking within days, even going down to the plaza on his own. Now he's fully rehabilitated and happy in another care home. What happened to him is truly tragic, especially since he's a railway worker, having contributed his dues for over forty years until his last day in that care home. It goes without saying that I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS RESIDENCE, especially to elderly people who need care.

We couldn't have chosen a better place for my sister. She's been here for seven years, and throughout that time, the care has been exceptional. They notify us of any emergency, the treatment is exquisite, and the care they show the residents is impressive. We've shared joys, sorrows, celebrations, and goodbyes with them, and they've always, always, always exceeded our expectations. Thank you all. You're our family, we love you 💛💙❤💚

I'm going to share my experience. My mother is 58 years old and was diagnosed with Alzheimer's at 52. Because she needed more and more care, we decided to look for a nursing home. We're from Alicante, and since our financial situation wasn't good, we were advised to take her to Ferroviarios Águilas, where she would be extremely well cared for, and I emphasize, LOVED BY EVERYONE. A week after my mother entered the nursing home (she was walking when she arrived), she was already in a wheelchair, had a fever of 39 degrees Celsius (102 degrees Fahrenheit), and a urinary tract infection. We only found out she was ill because we asked when we saw her complaining. They weren't even able to call us, especially knowing we're from Alicante and not the Murcia region. They told us, and well, that was that. A week later, she wasn't speaking anymore and started losing a lot of weight. They said she was eating, but that wasn't true. They only recommended vitamins to extract more money and weren't clear about what was happening. She was in the nursing home for a month and they had to take her to the hospital. She wasn't eating, she had a very high fever. They told me they were going to accompany her, but when I called the hospital, they told us my mother was alone! The diagnosis was clear: they weren't feeding her, they weren't changing her frequently enough, they weren't taking care of her, hence her rapid deterioration. Her body was covered in bedsores, and they weren't giving her water. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS NURSING HOME AT ALL. My mother died, and they washed their hands of it.
