Out of moral responsibility and empathy for those seeking a residence for their loved ones, and all that this entails, I feel compelled to share our experience at this facility. A few months ago, we found ourselves needing to admit a family member for a period of time. Initially, the impression was positive: the treatment was cordial and seemingly in line with our needs. However, as the weeks passed, we realized that many of the promises and amenities offered did not correspond to the reality of the service received. Three weeks after admission, our family member developed sores on both heels that prevented them from walking. The explanation given was that they were due to friction from the bed. After three months, they have returned home with one of their heels in a very worrying state. Furthermore, we consider the loss of several personal items unjustifiable, including their wallet, mobile phone charger, and a brand-new, unused razor. Adding to all of this was the condition in which her clothes were returned, some of them stained (we are not including images out of respect). The laundry was delivered in a bag containing a dead cockroach, a particularly unpleasant detail. On the pre-arranged day for her collection, the center had not prepared her belongings. Her medical record was at the pharmacy, and we, the family members, had to go into the room and collect all her things ourselves, discovering the state of the clothes stored in the drawers. The explanation offered by the staff, not by the management, was that they were unaware she was leaving, hence why neither her clothes, medical reports, nor medication were ready. During her three-month stay, the information received from the center was scarce and only obtained after repeatedly insisting on speaking with the doctor. The director responded to messages sporadically, despite having indicated that she would be available whenever we contacted her. In short, our experience has been very negative. For all the reasons stated above, and in complete honesty, I would not recommend this center for the care of our elderly.

As you've rightly said, they don't allow visitors to see the residents. Personal belongings are easily lost. Then the residents who are mentally stable complain that no one visits them. They're not allowed to. If I could go back, I would never leave my family member there again. Anything goes. I don't understand how it passes inspections. The TV program "Sonsoles" should visit the Moncasol residences in Alhaurín de la Torre. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL!

My mother-in-law, who has Alzheimer's, is here. She's only been here a short time, but we're truly delighted with the care she's receiving. The entire staff is very caring... you can feel the warmth and patience they have. Paqui and Dr. Antonio are very professional and kind; they're always available for any questions. The residence is very clean. It's very nicely decorated. Everything is beautiful. It's comforting to know that a loved one is being well cared for.

I absolutely wouldn't recommend that nursing home. Thank goodness I realized their informality in time. After transferring €500 to her and a few weeks later, the owner, administrator, and manager—that woman who doesn't show her face because she does everything over the phone or via WhatsApp, and who doesn't answer or does so whenever she feels like it—wouldn't confirm our place or admission date. So when another one notified us that we were also on the waiting list but didn't require anything in advance, we decided to admit her there. I informed her of my decision and the request for a refund. Although she said it wouldn't be refunded, she finally confirmed that she would. But yes, I had to remind her... I insisted a bunch of times, and when she answered, she always said yes, that she was going to return it, I guess, just to end the conversation. To this day, six months have passed. She's kept my mother's money. So be very careful and think carefully before admitting your family member.

I don't usually write reviews, but on this occasion, I feel a moral obligation to do so. I do so out of respect for my mother and for those, like me, who are looking for a place to entrust the care of a loved one. My mother was admitted to Moncasol 1 hoping to find a peaceful and caring environment. Unfortunately, that trust was betrayed. In less than a month, my mother suffered a series of situations that should never occur in a center that presents itself as specialized in the care of the elderly. What Happened From the first day, the staff's attitude was distant and unempathetic, which was especially painful at such a sensitive time as the admission of an elderly person with Alzheimer's. During the first week, no one contacted me to inform me about her condition. Only after insisting did I receive a message with a single word: "FAIR." I later learned that my mother had fallen. The second week, I found her with an ulcer on her heel that was almost necrotic, without anyone having informed me. Getting information was an exhausting process, filled with silences and evasions. In the third week, her hearing aid (valued at €3,000) went missing, she was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, and, without my permission, her hair was cut, despite my express instructions not to. In the fourth week, I decided to remove her from the center. The response was cold: "No problem, we'll call someone else on the waiting list." My mother hasn't walked since. Reflection There are mistakes that can't be corrected with apologies, because they leave deep marks. The damage caused to my mother was not only physical but also emotional, and that's something no family member should have to experience. In a place that cares for vulnerable people, empathy, communication, and humanity shouldn't be optional, but the foundation of everything. Moncasol 1 has beautiful facilities, yes, but a garden doesn't replace human warmth or compensate for a lack of attention and sensitivity. I hope this review will help those who run and work at this center truly reflect on what happened. Because behind every resident is a life, a story, and a family who trusts they will be treated with the respect and care they deserve.
