La Residencia de mayores Hospital de Antezana es ampliamente valorada como un lugar histórico excepcional de más de 500 años, donde la historia y la modernidad conviven en un espacio bien preservado con arquitectura tradicional castellana, guías expertos y diversas atracciones culturales que lo hacen una visita imprescindible. Sin embargo, existen problemas significativos de organización y cumplimiento de horarios que afectan la experiencia de los visitantes, especialmente en la gestión de tours grupales y reservas previas.

The Antezana hospital is one of the oldest active hospitals in the world. Founded in 1483 was the university hospital where students were taught. Dissections done here were the basis for the anatomy books published all along Europe in the XVI and XVII centuries. The first corps of civil nurses was created here in 1520

A spectacular visit. History and modernity walk hand in hand. The future of medicine was conceived here in the 15th century. It's a very pleasant surprise, a little-known corner that marked history. It's well worth taking the guided tour and enjoying the space. Saint Ignatius of Loyola spent time here, working as a cook, and a church was built in his honor. Immersing yourself in this history for an hour is already worth a visit to Alcalá de Henares.

A historic hospital over 500 years old that is still functioning. The Antezana Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals in Europe still in operation. The building preserves traditional Castilian architecture with a beautiful courtyard. It is a living example of Spanish hospital and healthcare history. A place steeped in humanitarian history. A very interesting place to learn about the medical and social heritage of Alcalá de Henares.

First of all, I must say that the guide is one of the best guides, if not the best, you'll find in the city: cultured, super-prepared, funny and ironic, historically accurate... A real joy. The Antezana Museum-Hospital is one of the most interesting visits in Alcalá. To the right of the theme park of Cervantes's birthplace (15 meters away) is this museum-hospital (operating continuously from the Golden Age to the present day; it's still a hospital) that will surprise you in every way: the professionalization of nurses with written contracts and equal pay to men, treatment rooms for illnesses and ailments for both men and women (you know what I mean), the presence of Saint Ignatius of Loyola (he was a cook and his kitchen is intact), a botanical garden with historically documented plants, and a comedy theater (although even in that era, doctors already sensed that for a good recovery, the spirit was directly related to health). The organization was flawed for visitors who believed they had booked a group tour from another city, only to find that the tour couldn't take place at the time they had reserved in person a week in advance due to a lack of organization by the staff responsible for the tour. The schedules published in the brochure were also not respected. In short, there was improvisation and a lack of commitment to the visiting public.
