My mother has just left this care home, and although there are shortcomings that could be improved, the care she received was warm and personal. I am extremely grateful to the physiotherapist, Esther, one of those professionals who makes you believe in humanity again; my mother adores her. Patricia, the activity coordinator, is incredibly kind and caring. Bea, the supervisor, offered me a helping hand, a hug, when I was unable to handle an accident with my mother, and she treats my mother with tenderness. Conchi, Aya, and Gabriela, the caregivers who always supported my mother with love, I will never forget you. On the other hand, the director lacked empathy and the skills to manage something as sacred as our elderly residents. Perhaps some people just want to get ahead, but to lead a care home, one must have sensitivity, humanity, and the right attitude. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and although it was difficult at first, my mother managed to feel like one of the family, loved and respected. I thank my colleagues Manuel, Josefina, and many others for their support of my mother. You will be missed. The shortcomings must be addressed so that Avanzar can be synonymous with a safe and secure place. I have learned a great deal from this three-month experience. I am grateful to everyone who treated my mother and me with kindness. We will not forget you.

My experience at the Casaverde Villamanta Residence has been very negative and worrying. In addition to the persistent bad smells and the dilapidated facilities, I consider the lack of adequate monitoring of the residents to be particularly serious. There is no rigorous and continuous monitoring of basic parameters such as blood oxygen, blood pressure, or glucose levels, which is essential for elderly people with pre-existing conditions. There is also a clear lack of support from caregivers, especially for residents with health problems, who make up the majority. These individuals need constant supervision and personalized attention, which they do not always receive. Furthermore, personal belongings and clothing have gone missing, without any clear explanations or satisfactory solutions being offered. A center intended for the care of our elderly must guarantee safety, hygiene, health monitoring, and humane treatment. In this case, unfortunately, this has not been the case. I hope that the management will take urgent measures to improve the quality of service.

My father spent nearly four months in this substandard care home. He has two hip replacements, as residents who should be accompanied are left alone. I visited him every day, and almost always in the common room with over twenty elderly people with severe cognitive impairment, all alone. The caregivers are busy with other tasks and don't supervise. The hygiene is appalling. The elderly residents smell of urine, and their hair is always dirty. The rooms are disgusting, and the sheets, pillows, and blankets are threadbare. The furniture is in terrible condition; everything is broken and there's no intention of repairing it. Even the caregivers were disgusted by the smell of urine in the third common room. At mealtimes, the bibs are filthy, the tablecloth is never cleaned, the glasses are rusty, the food is poorly cooked, and the portions are small. The elderly residents are dirty with stains on their clothes; nothing is ever ironed, and they lose everything. The assistant named Virginia is violently yelling at a resident with cognitive impairment. It's frightening, and she does it right in front of me. I can only imagine what she does when she's alone... It's shameful. Eva, the former director, is a very good salesperson and couldn't care less about the people and their families. All she cares about is posting photos. One day, when there was an inspection from the Madrid regional government, you should have seen them all cleaning like crazy, trying to tidy up the place... It's so sad. I feel so sorry for the people who don't receive visits from their families and have to live in such a place. The best thing about the residence is Esther, the physiotherapist. After my father's second fall, she told me he had been left unsupervised, and management denied it. Keep it up, Esther, keep bringing a little warmth and tenderness to such a sinister place. If your family members are just passing through, endure it as best you can, but if you can avoid it, please don't leave them there.

A place to forget. If you care about your loved ones, never bring them here. Lack of staff, poor food, and very poor care for residents and family members, especially those with the greatest needs (poorly dressed, sometimes without socks, sometimes without a sweatshirt in the cold, etc.). Countless times we've had to go to the hospital for falls (lack of supervision), ulcers (lack of postural changes), etc. The place for residents with the greatest needs has two professionals, and sometimes only one, who obviously can't meet even half of the needs of the residents. A shame!

This house of horrors is a nightmare. If you care about your loved one, never take them there. The most vulnerable are abandoned, malnourished, dehydrated, and neglected; personal hygiene is appalling. He lost 5 kilos in 7 months and ended up hospitalized. Heartbreaking.
