My mother stayed for a couple of weekends. She had very advanced dementia, and her mobility was already limited. So I can only comment on how she left. Knowing her departure time, they were careless with hygiene. A dirty diaper, from going for hours without a change, her face covered in dried mashed potatoes (food). We spoke to the director, and the next weekend she didn't improve at all. Even worse. I don't recommend the residence, at least for people who aren't aware of what they're doing with them.

I'd like to say I have a very good feeling about the nursing home, but quite the opposite. The care staff are very pleasant people, but I agree with many people when they say that more staff is needed, since on a ward, and with people with Alzheimer's, there are supposed to be two people, but you rarely see two. There's only one nurse, and she's very good. Although she knows all the care needs and knows how to manage everything, I think just one, and with shifts, isn't enough. The facilities outside the nursing home don't look much like the photos, as it's quite neglected and dirty; if you're lucky, a cat doesn't jump on your head. I think everything I'm saying could be improved. For now, whenever I go to the nursing home, I find something different, regardless of my relative's deterioration. From my experience, my relative isn't well-groomed, since whenever I go to see her, she has very dry eye discharge, scabs, a dirty mouth, and dirty nails. I pray that all this improves so that we family members can have a good taste in our mouths when we go see our loved ones. I don't like what I've been seeing lately, thank you.
