Opiniones

It truly saddens me to read certain comments... and many false or unfounded accusations. It's true that not everything is perfect, but just like your family members, the staff who are there every day are also people, and sometimes they can make mistakes, which is perfectly human and professional. The residence, like all residences, has its issues, but it's beautiful and welcoming. It's true that there are things that could be improved, such as having more patient lifts, more staff, or even, if possible, another elevator. But I would like people to understand that it's a sector where finding staff is difficult. Even so, I want to say that as a building, it's wonderful, and most of the staff work with dedication, care, and respect. If you met the caregivers and saw their work, and how they sometimes have to work themselves to the bone to get everything done on time, perhaps you would understand much better. Hugs.

My mother, Maria Dolores, has been in the nursing home for nine months, and I can say that the treatment and care have been truly excellent. My mother was admitted in a wheelchair, and thanks to the care and attention of the physiotherapist (Anna), she now uses a walker. They have always attended to my mother's physical and psychological needs, and I want to thank the entire team at Les Oliveres for their willingness to resolve any setbacks or problems that may have arisen. Thank you, Aroa, Anna, Alba, Erika, Gemma, Carme, Dolors, Cindel, Carlos, etc. Thank you to all the assistants and staff who, in one way or another, have shared moments with Maria Dolores Cámara. Perhaps we'll see each other again! A hug!

Last January, we enrolled my mother in the Las Oliveres day center. She was very sad at the time due to the loss of a family member, and I wasn't sure how she would adjust. Within a week, thanks to the care and dedication of all the professionals at the center, she made a remarkable change and they managed to bring her back to her old self. She adapted so well that in April we decided to keep her as a resident for two weeks, and the experience was wonderful. I can only express my gratitude to all the staff at the center for the care and attention they gave my mother and us, her family. Thank you so much.

My grandfather has been at this nursing home for some time, and we're very happy with the care he receives. The staff is attentive and always keeps us updated on how he's doing. It's clear he's well cared for; he seems calm and comfortable. It gives us great peace of mind to know he's in good hands.

My mother-in-law was in this nursing home for 7 months. When she arrived, the doctor had just left, and it took them 2 months to hire another one. The social worker left, the psychologist left, the wonderful nurse Tania left after she couldn't stand being alone anymore for 65 residents (she cried from helplessness). The director disappeared, and the assistants were also gone overnight. In other words, a nursing home where there's no stable staff can never be good, and your home couldn't care less. If the professional staff warned you about situations where you couldn't work, you couldn't care less. If you leave, others will come, and if you don't, you'll be fired for complaining. And those who remain are there for a salary, but they turn a blind eye. After my mother-in-law went to see her in the morning, they called us at 9:00 the next morning to tell us she had passed away. When we arrived, the director, who was there at the time—Lluís, I don't know now—and when we asked him what had happened to her, a psychologist director, who was in the presence of my mother-in-law, told us that she was older, that we should move on and accept it. After speaking with the doctor who issued the death certificate and trusting her assessment, everything remained as it was. As the days went by, we decided to file a complaint, and from then on, we learned what had really happened to her. The previous afternoon, she began to have very severe bowel movements, so they had to call a doctor that afternoon. They had to call the Güell Hospital at 4:00 a.m. in the early morning, and she finally died at 6:00 a.m. They called us at 9:00 a.m., three hours later. Is it possible that, with everything my mother-in-law was going through, no one thought of calling the family in case that would lead to what she finally felt? They have to call as soon as there are the slightest signs. Then the family doesn't go, or if they do, they may die. But they shouldn't leave the residents alone in bed if they're sick, when family members can be with them, keeping them company, so they don't feel alone without someone they love by their side, and especially before they die. In fact, the director told us she died from her medical conditions, so that was even more reason to notify us sooner when she started to feel ill. So if we hadn't reported it, we wouldn't have found out. The assistant Gloria who was there that afternoon—we'll never forget that she could have warned us, but didn't. The assistant Laura Pando, who testified in court, lying about what really happened to my mother-in-law, by the way, having just returned after two years of sick leave, will know how to live with her conscience and hope that no one in her family suffers what happened to my mother-in-law. Why, have they raised her salary? When they want to kick her out, they'll give it to her. Never trust the doctors who certify deaths in nursing homes, since, since they are elderly, they presumably don't question anything beyond that. Also, beware of some positive reviews because they are workers at this nursing home. By the way, my wife won the lawsuit because it was proven that my mother-in-law died without being given a chance to save herself due to a failure to act correctly. There's a nursing home in La Garriga near your home that was in the news because a worker filmed a resident in her bed covered in ants all over her body. You can check it out by searching on Google. I'm doing this to warn you. And if anyone reading this already has someone in this nursing home, please keep this in mind so that the same thing doesn't happen to you as happened to us. And please report it so that at least justice is done. We owe it to our seniors. Neither they nor their families deserve to have a dignified stay or end in nursing homes, often. Request inspections from the general government. We did, and they were fined for not complying with many things, and that helped us in court. Then look at their response, they are all the same, they don't know who we are, they don't assume anything, modus operandi
