Just days before she died from metastatic cancer, a doctor at this nursing home said my aunt was making things up. A woman bedridden, covered in lumps, and hoarse from cancer. That she was making things up. He literally said she was better off than we were. This happened at the end of 2022. That "person"—if I can use a word that won't get me blocked—said my aunt was making things up. A few days later, after months of insisting that what she had wasn't just hoarseness from a poorly treated cold (the Osakidetza issue is a whole other story), she was diagnosed with throat cancer and metastasis. She died a few days later. My mother has always refused to give me the name of that despicable person or the paperwork for her diagnosis because she knows I would go straight to court. I will have to deal with the pain and helplessness that will haunt me for the rest of my life. I don't wish that person any harm, only that he crosses paths with people like himself when he needs them.

Today, my father is moving. From a private place at Cáser-Anaka to a public place at San Gabriel. Although, at first glance, it seems like wonderful news, he's leaving, and we're leaving, with a heavy heart. Undoubtedly, each family's experiences in each place they live are unique and irreplaceable. Ours has been very positive. We've felt that the care team has been courteous and compassionate, as well as efficient. And we've met many families and residents from whom we're saying goodbye with tears in our eyes because it's likely to be the last time we see them. I want to emphasize that every family is different, but for our family, it has been a great honor to be part of the wonderful Cáser-Anaka family. Thank you all for making it possible!

I came to the Casser residence due to immobilization following surgery on my right foot, which required me to use a wheelchair. Overall, I loved the residence's location and spacious architecture with wide hallways and a terrace. The care was very satisfactory for my daily activities; the only drawback was the occasional rush by the staff to ensure everyone received adequate attention. I later stayed a few extra days for rehabilitation because I could put weight on my foot. The physiotherapist's care was excellent, both in the varied exercise sessions he prescribed and in his empathetic approach. I am leaving happy after my stay at the Casser residence in Irún.
