My family and I are very happy to have brought my grandmother to the Santa Marta Residence. The humane treatment is unbeatable. We are sincerely grateful that she is being cared for so well, 24 hours a day, especially to the sisters of the Martha and Mary Congregation for their care and affection.

It was awful. My grandmother was there for four months and we had to take her out. She was mistreated, her belongings were stolen, she was neglected, and on top of that, when we complained, they said we were a difficult family. Thank God we've moved her to a different place, and now she's doing wonderfully. I just hope these "nuns" return her things as soon as possible. It's hard to believe that nuns could behave so cruelly... it's unbelievable.

It was awful. My mother went there to try it out, to make friends, to be surrounded by new people, and to spend time with the residents. On the first day, we saw the results. They told us they would put her with people she knew—all lies. They put her with a stranger in a room where there was a fellow resident with an oxygen machine who snored. They put her in bed with a bed rail and a diaper on her so she couldn't get out of bed all night. They gave her tranquilizers and sleeping pills. She called them on the call button, and it took 45 minutes for them to come. They didn't give her the medication she was supposed to take at the start of the day, so we took her out the next day because we saw her quality of life was deteriorating. They don't do things the way they tell you.

Since the new mother superior last year, the nursing home has changed for the worse. The care went from looking out for the elderly to looking out for money. The good things the facility had, the closeness and caring of the staff, were gone with that mother superior. A company now manages everything, and it manages it poorly.

I went to visit an inmate, and since I didn't have an appointment (I didn't know one was necessary), they wouldn't let me in. Not even five minutes at reception. Just like that. No appointment, no visit. That's it. It doesn't matter if you've come 300 km, that's just how it is!
