Opiniones

I want to mention the Aprende a Vivir en Ciudad (Learn to Live in the City) residence. My name is Cecilia Sevillano. Two weeks ago, my mother, Rafaela Ruiz, was discharged from the Ciudad Real hospital with advanced colon cancer. We urgently needed to find a residence where my mother could receive 24-hour care from healthcare professionals. Fortunately, we found a place here. The staff has been incredibly professional, empathetic, kind, caring, and supportive—simply wonderful in their treatment of my mother. I am so grateful to Eduardo, the doctor who ensured my mother received palliative care as soon as possible to minimize her suffering. A thousand thanks to all the staff, the amazing team that works there, for the care they gave my mother and the whole family. You are all wonderful, and I don't know what we would have done without you. I will always remember you.

Our experience was very, very bad. The nursing staff lacked experience and the attending physician showed no interest in him. He was admitted four times in a month and a half. He didn't come down to check on his patient on any of them. Despite working at the hospital, he was sent out in a T-shirt and diaper only. He was disrespectful to people and severely dehydrated, until he died. It's just a business. My only thanks to Raquel at reception for her great humanity.

We are residents of the Ciudad Real residence, "Aprende a Vivir" (formerly Andamar). It's deplorable. Since the change in management, my mother fell and they didn't notify us. They only told us when she fell again and hit her head because they had no other choice. They've moved her room a thousand times, the last time without even telling us, with all the distress that entails, like losing clothes and my mother becoming disoriented. They have the unfortunate, albeit unwritten, rule that we're not allowed to wait outside the downstairs bathroom when my mother needs to urinate; we have to wait in the elevators. They restrict her freedom of movement, presumably. I'm desperately hoping they'll give her a place in another residence; that says it all.

If you care about your loved ones, I absolutely do not recommend this care home. My relative ended up in the hospital every other week, always due to overmedication, until sadly, they passed away.

The nursing home is a bit shabby... it's a shame the way it is. There should be unannounced checks to see how long they've been in diapers. The management, I don't even want to mention the charlatan who runs it... it took months to get my money back... ALL FOR THE SAME THING. LITTLE HUMANITY.
