Opiniones

With the change in management in the spring of 2025, the Cristo da la Luz nursing home leaves much to be desired. The director visits the residence only two days a week and for just a couple of hours. There is very little staff to care for so many elderly residents. There is only one registered nurse, and if she takes personal leave, she is replaced by a staff member without the necessary training. Regarding hygiene, those who are independent are showered once a week. Their clothes are not changed daily. Those who are dependent are bathed while in bed. They are cutting back on meals. At midday, they prepare extra food to puree in the evening, which is then served with a few other things. There have even been cases where they are given legumes at night. Poor elderly residents! In my case, a relative died, and they didn't even bother to offer condolences to any of the family. The person passed away on the 10th and spent practically those days of the month in the hospital in Navalmoral. They benefited from the monthly fee and didn't even have the decency to send a single flower on the day of the funeral. I hope that with this bad review things will change and that they will take better care of our relatives, increase the staff, and have a more sensitive protocol when a resident passes away. I hope this will change for the sake of our loved ones.

It's the second care home in Madrigal de la Vera. The elderly residents are very well cared for; they are always clean, eat very well, and lack nothing. Those who are independent have a great deal of freedom to come and go as they please, and they have activities to fill their days.

The behavior of the bespectacled boy who looks after them and seats them for dinner, named Diego, is very good, but on the other hand, the behavior of the cook serving the food is completely unacceptable. His expression was serious and sour throughout, his comments were unkind, and he was completely unprofessional. He cleared their plates without even looking at them or asking anything. If anyone wanted to ask something, he would yell at them and walk away without caring if anything happened to them. The strangest thing is that he had complete immunity, even having family members nearby, which is lamentable, to say the least, for people who need love and affection the most. These kinds of people should never work in these places or have anyone in their care. If seeing this woman has served me well, it's to promise myself that I will never take any loved one to a nursing home because I will never expose them to this kind of people. I think I heard someone call her Tere or Teresa or something like that.

We were visiting a relative who lives in this residence, and the hour we had there felt too short. I can't speak to how it operates internally, but the young woman who attended to us was very kind and caring towards our relative. I appreciated that.
