Opiniones

A very good experience, especially with Paqui, one of the caregivers. She treats the elderly with great care and affection, and that makes a difference in a job where they are very demanding and barely have time to interact with and show affection to the elderly, which is really what they need most.

A deplorable place to leave your elderly relatives. On weekends, there are only three staff members for all the residents on a single floor (more than 10 elderly people for just 3 staff members). And sadly, my grandmother is no longer with us, due to circumstances that shouldn't have happened, because there wasn't enough staff, no doctors on duty, and not enough nurses. They weren't where they should have been when it happened, when my grandmother needed to be fed. Negligent. I certainly won't recommend this residence to anyone; I didn't even last two months there.

My father was here nine years ago and spent his last two and a half years here. He went from being in another, well-known but terrible facility to recovering in just two days here. When he passed away, the nurses closest to him came to say goodbye with a tenderness that deeply moved me. My mother felt the care and affection of the staff towards both residents and their families, so she made it clear that if she ever needed it, it had to be at Bizkotzalde. It's been seven years now, and aside from minor issues due to insufficient staff (they meet the Basque Government's staffing ratios, but to provide the excellent service they do, they need more staff), we are delighted, even now that it's nearing its end. They always called us if something happened (a fall, fever, blood pressure...). If it's my turn to be here someday, unless other facilities closer to home improve significantly, you'll see me here.

BIG BUSINESS, WITH THE ELDERLY...ALL DUE TO STAFF SHORTAGES...the nursing assistants do what they can, but it's impossible to have one assistant on duty at night per floor...just with repositioning...they can't manage everything. In fact, my father fell and lay there unattended until morning...and on top of that, they didn't even call me; I found out from him, when it's their obligation to call the family...my experience was awful...and it's SOLELY AND EXCLUSIVELY DUE TO STAFF SHORTAGES...there are no nurses at night...the nursing assistants take care of him...and what I'm describing is just the tip of the iceberg...because in the 15 days he was there, everything went wrong: the room...the insulin...the diaper changes.....ahhhhh and the physiotherapy service is random because they have almost 120 patients...IMPOSSIBLE that they're the same ones the doctor sees...in the morning...there's neither a doctor nor a nurse at night. Bad experience...

I haven't been able to see my mother due to staff shortages. She's on the second floor and completely dependent. The nurses are doing their best, but the staff shortage means some residents can't be lifted from their beds. Regrettable management.
