Retirement home in the countryside

My work experience at the Argaluza Residence in Sopelana was very negative, and I feel it's important to share it so other families can be aware of it. During my contract, I received unacceptable treatment from the supervisor, including shouting, rudeness, and corrections in front of residents—completely inappropriate in an environment that should be based on respect and care. The organization was chaotic: tasks were taught one way the next day and deemed incorrect the following day; rules were constantly changing, and on several occasions, I was accused of lying when I had followed instructions exactly. On some shifts, we weren't allowed to take our breaks because there were visitors at the residence, which I consider very serious from both a professional and human perspective. Furthermore, on one occasion, I asked for help managing a very agitated resident for safety reasons, and far from receiving support, the supervisor yelled at us for working as a team—something especially concerning in a center where the safety and well-being of the elderly should be paramount. The work environment was toxic from day one, and in my opinion, this directly impacts the quality of care the residents receive. Personally, I would not recommend this facility to any family. I've decided to share this experience publicly here because I previously filed a formal complaint with the residence and haven't received any response or explanation. Given the lack of communication and solutions, I believe it's important to document this situation so others are aware of it.

Unfortunately, I had to spend a month in the hospital with broken ribs. A very pleasant experience. The staff was professional and very pleasant.

This care home in Larrabasterra boasts a lovely garden, but that's about it. The facilities inside leave much to be desired, from uncomfortable sofas for the elderly to old, broken beds. So, frankly, there are care homes that, while lacking a magnificent garden, offer far better care, treatment, and facilities.

I currently have a family member in the residence, and I'm very satisfied with the services and care he receives from the entire staff. Excellent information and attention to families. Absolutely recommend it.
