Pay attention to this comment. At first, everything seems correct, but it isn't. I think the elderly residents don't receive the necessary medical care. I told you, my 92-year-old father was admitted. At first, everything was fine. After a week, he felt ill and in pain. We informed them about what was happening to him, but they didn't provide the necessary care. After a few days, we insisted and suggested they take him to the hospital. They didn't do so until 17 days had passed. In the emergency room, it was determined that his bowel was completely filled with feces, and he died shortly afterward. The nursing home didn't monitor his stool and urine levels; he died from vomiting and pain. He was only in the nursing home for 17 days. He wasn't suffering from any illness. Damn the hour I decided to place him in this nursing home. I've reported this case. Let's see how it ends. We'll see each other in court, and we'll see who's right.

The Barcino Residence in Vallirana, deserves, from my point of view, the highest score. I will tell you why, now at the end of August it will be 10 years since my father has been living in this Residence, where exceptional human and professional treatment prevails, always attending to the father in a very professional, affectionate and humane way. The Residence Team with its director at the head, Mrs. Rosa as owner and Patrícia as technical director, make this Residence a place where our most direct relatives have the treatment they deserve. It is a completely renovated Residence, very clean, and where they make their own food. 10 years ago when we were looking for a place for our father, there were very nice and perhaps more luxurious Residences in the area, they were much more expensive and the food was catered (a bad sign, because catered food is bad, cold food and does not take into account the personal needs of each inmate). The loyalty of the staff at the Barcino Residence is almost always the same, and our families are very grateful for this. During the Covid pandemic, all the Residences received on the front line of fire, the consequences and mismanagement of politicians with contradictory and useless rules that only put a brake on their wheels. Despite the setbacks they suffered, at all times the Barcino Residence withstood everything that fell upon them, in a professional manner and without leaving our families unattended for a single day. The views and the garden that the Residence has, means that our relatives do not feel boxed in and it is at a height where there is always a mountain breeze in the middle of the Mediterranean forest that the air they breathe is pure and clean. When we have needed to admit my father for various illnesses, they always worry about his condition. For all this and much more I believe that it is an appropriate center for our relatives.

Not all that glitters is gold. The manager is very kind, but the owner is rude and doesn't care about the residence. She lacks qualified and well-paid staff to do their jobs. The nurse and manager spend all day smoking in the garden and don't pay attention to the elderly. I don't recommend taking your family member there.

My mother is being incredibly well cared for. The caregivers are all wonderful professionals and incredibly kind to our elderly residents. Thank you for your work; you are a fantastic team.
