I've been living with a relative there for a year. I've received nonstop complaints about the poor food and the kitchen conditions. There have been nights when the owner, who is also the cook, has left a piece of bread with some ham for dinner. Other residents have told me they've had to steal diapers because they weren't provided. I read the last review, and I could vouch for it 100%, given what I've been through myself. I wouldn't leave my worst enemy here.

Staffing is scarce, with high turnover, and in many cases, a lack of dedication to the care, affection, and health of the elderly. Residents, aside from medical care, would appreciate feeling valued by the staff, and sometimes they aren't even spoken to respectfully. I've heard it myself. This prevents residents from forming bonds with the staff and leads to profound loneliness, which worsens their emotional state. Furthermore, the caregivers criticize each other when speaking with family members; this creates a great deal of distrust. Many leave their jobs and return more than once. Medication errors are quite frequent (my relative ended up in the hospital due to a doctor's mistake). Very often, during leave, medication is missing because it wasn't prepared correctly. The food, besides not offering adapted diets (diabetic menu, low-sodium menu, etc.), is meager. There were diabetic residents having pastries and jam for breakfast. They only offer pureed food or a basic diet. It's not the first time I've heard that residents share dessert or eat cold meals (bread and cold cuts, for example). The staff (physiotherapist, nurse, or doctor) don't have a fixed or regular schedule, and it's very difficult to talk to them. There have even been cases of "theft" of tobacco and money between staff and residents (admitted to by the person involved). Residents can't feel at home in a place like this. Since almost all the staff at the Habitaciones Baix Llobregat Residence are from the same family, it's difficult to ask for explanations without them covering for each other or defending one another. There are elderly residents who, unfortunately, should be in a psychogeriatric ward, but they're kept there, and I fear it's for financial reasons. They advertise cognitive stimulation workshops; basically, what they offer is playing bingo, baking cookies at Christmas, coloring, and "celebrating" holidays like Christmas or New Year's. The facilities are extremely small; residents have no opportunity to walk in a courtyard or through the hallways, there aren't even enough chairs inside for everyone, and recovery or improvement in quality of life in such an environment is almost impossible. My advice and opinion is that this is not the place for our elderly; they can leave worse off than when they entered. Both family and residents had a truly terrible time at times. Unfortunately, it was a horrible experience for everyone. I thought these things wouldn't happen anymore by 2025. It's about time we recognize that residents are vulnerable people, and many of them are ill, regardless of the pension they receive and pay to the care home.

If there was a way to give fewer stars, I would. Don't put your elders there. We had my father-in-law there, and it was the worst experience of my life. They left medications behind when we took him away for a few days. They almost killed him because the doctor treating him gave him medication that wasn't appropriate for what he was already taking. They repeatedly made mistakes in taking his medications, and they called us to ask what we were doing, with the person on the other end of the phone on the verge of a nervous breakdown. The kitchen is a mess, and the cleaning service is inhumane. It's incomprehensible how something like this can be open. To top it all off, on the last day when he left, he'd been sitting on the corner of his bed since 7 a.m., smelling of pee, with all his belongings thrown on the floor because someone had decided that dismantling the room with him in it was the best way. Inhumane and humiliating treatment. I could go on with a thousand and one more comments that would make your stomach swell.

For me, it's a residence with many shortcomings, and as a residence, it leaves much to be desired. It's still a tower to be used as a summer holiday residence, but not for elderly people, and I don't want to continue because I have enough material to write a book.

I didn't want to give it a star, I just wanted to say what I really think. It's not a good place. Zero empathy. Zero class. Zero respect. I didn't know I could write like this, so let me tell you, I have my reasons. You know perfectly well that's not true. A really, really bad place. I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy.
