Opiniones

I know a few nursing homes through family members, and I have to say that all of them, as examples: the mining pension home, the Collanzo nursing home, the Mieres nursing homes... since I'm from the mining basin. The staff is extraordinary, from the management to the daily care staff, including cleaning, meals, changing clothes, etc., etc., the medical staff, and physiotherapy. They interact with the children to motivate them with games, physical activities, and much more. Unfortunately, I had to go to this Serantes nursing home. The care is minimal, to put it mildly. The facilities, bathrooms, bedrooms, etc., look like they're from the early 20th century. It's incredibly sad how they have people lying there for hours, abandoned. I saw elderly people repeatedly calling staff to go to the bathroom and being ignored. I saw a woman who had to get to the bathroom by herself in a wheelchair, opening both doors as best she could, and getting up on her own with great difficulty due to her lack of mobility until she got to the bathroom. That woman told me she always had to do it alone because they didn't listen to her. I swear on my children, it's a brutal lack of humanity. We asked a supervisor for an explanation, and after many contradictions on her part, she agreed with us because, truly, there's only one, but she didn't understand how she should act since we're talking about an elderly person, about humanity, worries, upsets, and so on. That supervisor, veryyyy unconsciously, didn't make it easy for us. Never in my life have I seen such treatment. I repeat, we're talking and asking about the well-being of a loved one, a human being. In the end, what was impossible (due to the absence of a director of the residence) suddenly seemed like the logical position of a coordinator, who would logically take over when the director wasn't there. So, via phone, and away from where she was, she called that coordinator to ask her whether or not she could provide what we wanted to know, nothing more. After a while, she arrived in a bad tone, telling me that we weren't entitled to a report, a file on our loved one, including why he entered the residence, his condition (temporary or permanent), the time and day of his admission, etc., etc., etc. According to the supervisor, she couldn't give it to us because it would violate the data protection law. Pure surrealism, since she's her daughter. And to make matters worse, she made him read the file for over twenty minutes. In other words, she herself (the supervisor) violated the infamous data protection law. In short, the office situation is brutally out of control. They don't know, and the worst part is that they're lying. The most unfortunate thing is that we're talking about people, people who are in the hands of people with a brutal lack of humanity, no values, no principles, nothing at all. If you really want to and unfortunately find yourself having to put a loved one in a nursing home, I strongly advise against doing so. It's not a nursing home, it's a junkyard, a junkyard in general, the treatment, the rooms with sagging paint and ceilings, and damp, rust in bathrooms, counters... in short, a pain. NO ONE DESERVES TO END THEIR DAYS IN A PLACE LIKE THIS, NO ONE!!!!!!

I will be eternally grateful to all the staff at the Residence for their kind and caring treatment. I wish there were more people like them, so dedicated and compassionate. Don't lose your essence. Thank you so much for these two months. 💫

A nursing home, yes; but each resident has their own name and receives the added care of each supervisor and caregiver. Good facilities. Good staff, although (as in most jobs) sometimes a bit short-staffed.

Good place, good service, and people are happy.
