Opiniones

As her daughter, writing these words is not easy, but it is absolutely necessary. My mother recently passed away after living with Alzheimer's disease for many years. Two years ago, with great respect and also with fear—because anyone who has been through this knows what it entails—we made the decision to place her in the DomusVi Babel residence in Alicante. Today I can say, with complete peace of mind, that it was the right decision. During this time, my mother was not only cared for, but looked after with love, patience, and a genuine compassion that cannot be faked. For this reason, I want to express my deepest gratitude to the entire team at the center: caregivers, receptionists, maintenance staff, supervisors, doctors, and nurses. In particular, I want to mention the caregivers Yolanda, Irene, Carmen Robles, Lana, Rocío, Samu, Jony, Sonia Gil, and Andrea, and also the nurse Aníbal. Thank you for your daily care, your gentle words, your steady hands, and the dignity with which you accompanied my mother until the very end. There are no words to fully express what it means to know that the person you love most was in good hands. We also want to express our gratitude for allowing us to say goodbye to her in private during her final moments, accompanying her to the very end, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. I can only say thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for the respect, professionalism, and affection you showed us. She will always be a part of our story.

There are few employees, and they can't cope with everyone. Staff members leave, and there are always new, inexperienced people. There are ants in the rooms and everywhere, even in the bed... Everything gets lost, and even the name can't be found... My husband's glasses have been missing for 9 months, and even today, the insurance they claim to have with Everest hasn't paid the 200 euros it cost. I spoke to the director, Natalia, and she still hasn't resolved the case. She's there to resolve administrative issues... She made other glasses that she also made. She's been missing for a week. The supervisors say she has to be in the laundromat, but since they have two broken machines, it will take a while to get the glasses out. A roommate damaged the plug on my husband's razor over 16 days ago, and to this day, maintenance hasn't fixed it. I've been asking around, but no one can say anything...

They have few workers for so many residents. There's always new staff. There are ants all over the residence, even in the beds... Everything gets lost, even if it has a name. My husband's prescription glasses were damaged 9 months ago, and to this day, the residence insurance hasn't paid the 200 euros I brought in as the receipt. I've spoken to the director, Natalia, many times, but she doesn't resolve the issue. I think that's what she's there for, to resolve administrative matters. She made another pair of glasses, but that's still there. She's been missing for a week now, and no one knows anything. A roommate damaged the plug on my husband's razor for over 15 days, and to this day, it hasn't been fixed.

Residents... they've been without fresh bread for two days. Only slices of sandwich bread. And what's more, I don't know if you know, the bread is served without any hygienic wrapping. Directly on the table where it can fall to the floor or be touched by anyone. Anyway...

If you love your elders, I do not recommend this nursing home. My father was admitted on March 3, 2025. He has vascular dementia. In less than a week at the facility, he fell three times (two of them during hospitalizations) and received a serious diagnosis. He has had staples placed in his head and has internal cranial bleeding. Upon returning to the facility, they left him alone, naked, and wetting the bed (according to what they told us, they had another admission). I had to dress him. On another occasion, he walked around the facility alone, without a walker and without any staff attention. They are unable to administer the medication; according to them, he doesn't want it, leaving my father without medication for several doses. Worst of all, Natalia, the director, is a poor mediator, arrogant, doesn't take any responsibility, and offers no solutions. In short, there are few staff members, unqualified staff in my opinion, and poor care for the elderly. They don't answer the phones, and when they do, they don't forward messages to the interested parties. We are considering filing a complaint for negligence. Today, 03/13/2025 my father is still in the hospital after his last fall. When he leaves we will take him to another residence.
