Opiniones

My father went out in his wheelchair on Friday. He's physically dependent but cognitively fine. He went to a bar terrace and started to feel quite disoriented. He was sitting on the bar terrace, as he mentioned, and he spilled his glass of wine. An Ertzaintza patrol was passing by and they asked him if he was drunk because he was completely disoriented. They took him to a nursing home, not his own, but the one in Arkaiate. They left him there until they later brought him back to his own. Since he smelled of wine, they thought it was alcohol and didn't make any determination. At no point did they call us from the nursing home. If they hadn't waited so long, it might not have come to this. My father said that night that he was upset, that something was wrong, and they didn't take it into account. The next morning, when we couldn't reach him on his cell phone, we called the nursing home. They put us through to him on the phone, and he said he wasn't well. We didn't trust him, so we went to the nursing home and found him strapped in with a seatbelt, breathing very poorly, as if he were short of breath. The aides didn't notify us, but they called an ambulance, which came and the aides told them my father simply had a HANGOVER. He arrived at the hospital practically in a coma, choking because he had food in his throat. Because he was sick and disoriented, they forced food down his throat, like the other time they did the same thing with pills, but he vomited them up. We feel so helpless. We're going to file a complaint in court, but we also want people to know how our elders are being treated, because those who are cognitively impaired can't say anything, but those who are cognitively healthy can. It's so helpless. We take them to be cared for, and it's worse than a factory. If you love your relatives, take them somewhere else.

Very poor soundproofing, leaves much to be desired. Very few resources and understaffed. They completely disregard the law, causing constant disturbance to the neighbors. It should be illegal to build residences in residential communities.

Very dedicated staff, always willing to make life easier for family members, very professional. The residence is impeccable, clean, and very comfortable. Congratulations to the management for the excellent work done.

Well located and well-run, I want to highlight the treatment we received from the staff, who made such a difficult process as getting a mother out of her home much easier. Thank you for everything.
