My experience at this care home was terrible. Everything needs to change, starting with the director and continuing with some of the caregivers who don't even know how to talk to the elderly residents, instilling fear if they say anything. Seriously, how can they charge such an exorbitant amount of money monthly and then not even allow you to sit in the lounge? This applies not only to visitors but also to the residents themselves. The people who run the care home are completely unaware of the psychological and emotional needs of this stage of life, when they should be providing the kind and personal care that residents deserve. I hope my review helps other families understand what happens after they sign the contract.

The treatment of the residents is shameful. They start painting the kitchen while the elderly are eating dinner, and the residents have to endure the smell with their food still on their plates. Any employee can walk into that kitchen, and food handling procedures are completely disregarded. Please, wash the plastic dishes you give the residents properly; they come out unrinsed, because when you pour water on them, foam just comes out. The menu is the same for everyone, regardless of whether you're diabetic, have high blood pressure, or high cholesterol. Some of the assistants lack empathy, and their responses to the elderly are shameful or rude. On the first day, they show you the most decorated room, but then the director and the other supervisor do whatever suits them best.

My father was in this residence 8 years ago and received excellent care. No complaints whatsoever. Everyone was very professional and caring. Now my mother is here, and everything is going very well. The staff is very professional and caring towards my mother and everyone else. I feel completely confident and know she is very well looked after. Thank you to all the professionals who care for her. I am very grateful. After 16 months at the Santa Paola Residence, my mother's only feeling is gratitude. Like all residences, it has its issues, but we have always felt well cared for. I shouldn't name names, because I'm sure I would leave some people out, but I am grateful to everyone, from the director to the last member of staff: psychologist, nurses, physiotherapists, kitchen staff, cleaning staff, assistants... for all the care and help they gave us during our stay. Thank you for everything.

I've visited several care homes in Toledo, and this one is undoubtedly the best. The care, cleanliness, food, services, and activities are all top-notch and reliable. From my perspective and experience there, I highly recommend it.

Awful!! Don't take your elderly relatives to such a depressing place, so lacking in humanity and empathy. They are anything but "professional," starting with the director and extending to the kitchen staff. They are speculators, schemers, and there's a toxic atmosphere among them, gossiping, and destructive criticism of each other, including the male and female assistants. They even steal money from one another, so imagine what awaits your elderly relatives! There's an elderly man they let take leftover bread from the trash! Good heavens! How is this possible??? The director looks the other way when questioned, the assistants mistake kindness for shouting at many of the elderly residents, and the treatment is horrific. I've never seen a place like this in my life! Some of the hallways smell like feces. A complete overhaul of both staff and facilities is needed, or at least hire qualified personnel with a genuine desire to serve. There are a few assistants who abuse what little authority they have over the others; you know who they are... I'll leave it at that. I'm giving it one star because I can't give even one!
