This is a house of horrors. If you don't love your relative, put them in this nursing home. Family members are forbidden from entering the rooms; you always have to call ahead to visit. Visiting hours are limited to 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The food is of terrible quality. They serve dinner at 6:00 PM, after visiting hours, and don't give breakfast until 7:00 AM (and then they only give diabetics a small supplement). There are only three caregivers per shift to look after 46 residents. The residents are dirty, with excessively long fingernails. The smell in the common room with the TV is awful; there's no ventilation, and they're constantly spraying air freshener to mask the odor for visitors. In short, it's a business set up to get rich off the residents' money. I filed a complaint with Social Services and the Ombudsman. These care homes require thorough administrative oversight, which is not being implemented. Thank God, my relative is out of there now, but it breaks my heart to know about all those who remain in that horrendous place. The only good thing about that place is the caregivers, who are wonderful and do everything they can; the rest of the staff lack compassion and provide appalling care to the elderly.
