Luckily, none of my relatives have had the misfortune of being in this care home. My friend's grandmother did. She received—or rather, failed to receive—the necessary care that our elders deserve. If you're looking for a care home, first make sure the management has changed so you don't encounter the same apathy and lack of professionalism that my friend's family had to endure.

The staff are fantastic, but the facilities desperately need maintenance and care. The chairs are peeling, the armchairs where the elderly residents sit are sagging, and the tables are wobbly and unstable. The toilet in my mother's room is constantly running. It's a complete disaster, a sign of neglect and indifference from management. Broken blinds that haven't been replaced, and so on. Please take note and get your act together.

My grandmother entered the Nova Vida nursing home in Carracedelo approximately four years ago, initially with a very acceptable experience. However, for a little over a year now, coinciding with a change in management, the quality of care has deteriorated significantly. During this period, we have witnessed situations that I consider unacceptable for any senior care facility. In one serious incident, my grandmother fell from a mattress on the floor, which had been specifically chosen to prevent accidents due to her hip replacements. As a result, her hip prosthesis broke, and she suffered multiple additional fractures. The situation was aggravated because she was transferred to the Cacabelos health center without informing the family beforehand. They only contacted us when the health center decided she needed to be transferred to the hospital, and then only when she was already being taken by ambulance to the hospital. This procedure, in addition to being negligent, reflects a complete lack of professionalism and communication with the family. Subsequently, the care home displayed a worrying disregard for the residents' health. After another health issue arose, when I requested information about the results of a culture, the management responded that they "hadn't had time to review it because they had been partying at the care home," demonstrating an unacceptable prioritization of staff entertainment over the well-being of the elderly. More recently, a wound on my grandmother's leg, initially downplayed by the care home, turned out to be black, infected, and poorly treated, according to hospital staff. Far from taking responsibility, the management responded callously, stating that they had "seen worse wounds on her" and that she was healing. The neglect of her medical and physical care has been systematic, including the administration of medication inappropriate for her age and weight. For all these reasons, my experience at this care home has been utterly disappointing and worrying. The care, management, and healthcare staff demonstrate an unacceptable level of professionalism, jeopardizing the health and safety of the residents. I absolutely do not recommend that anyone entrust this care home with the care of their family members.

You call to speak with the director (he has to wake up at 12) because his employees acting as directors are not qualified and even after waiting all morning they don't solve anything. Great workers.

I'm giving it one star because I can't give it zero. Thanks to your negligence, my mother is dead. You still haven't explained how she ended up alone in a bathroom, dead and choking. Where were you, you shameless people? When I went to get her things, you gave me no explanation, not to mention that you started washing dishes during mealtimes, and it wasn't the first time she'd put her foot in the bucket and you'd send her home in someone else's clothes. They should do the same to your own family members. All you care about is money, and you don't give a damn whether people are okay or not as long as you get paid. You don't even have enough staff, and I doubt the ones you do have are qualified.
