Opiniones

I am the granddaughter of a former resident of the Bouco Córdoba Centro Residence and I want to share the most relevant events that occurred during my grandmother's stay at this facility between July and December 2025. During that time, the family visited her every day. 1. A few days after her admission, a resident on the terrace alerted the facility that my grandmother was walking alone in the street with her walker. The staff had not noticed. The resident informed us, but the facility never did. After meeting with management, we were assured that it would not happen again, and they made promises. 2. We discovered that my grandmother had not received her prescribed medication for a week. When we asked, no one offered an explanation. There were no medications in her locker, and despite being aware of the situation, no one notified the family or took any alternative measures. After reporting this to management, we were promised that it would be rectified. The problem recurred, and as a solution, medication from another facility was used without further explanation. 3. On three occasions, in the afternoon, we found the bag with the morning's medication in her room, unused. We reported this the first time and received promises of increased monitoring. 4. On December 15th, she was prescribed cough syrup. That afternoon, as her condition worsened, we notified the doctor, who indicated he would come to her room, but never did. The following morning, we found her collapsed on the floor. Given this situation, we decided to take her home after meeting with management. At no point were we asked the reason for taking her; we were simply told to submit a written request and that our deposit would not be refunded. Later, at 5:00 PM, we went to the facility to take her and found her sitting with other residents, next to a security guard. She had a yellowish complexion, was trembling noticeably, and was visibly emaciated. We took her blood pressure, which read 20/10. After we reported this, the center quickly covered its tracks and gave us a report stating the evidence that my grandmother needed medical assistance, which they had failed to provide. Once home, the emergency team recommended her hospitalization for a respiratory infection, pneumonia with a very complicated condition: extremely high blood pressure, fever, critically low oxygen saturation, etc., etc., etc. These are some of the instances of negligence we experienced at this center. We hope this account helps families looking for a place where their loved ones will be well cared for. This message is addressed to them, not to the center.

I'm a relative of a resident. It's a nursing home where you pay a premium price, with services that could be greatly improved. If you're self-sufficient, it's not so bad, but when you need care from the staff, it's worse. The only good thing is the facilities. As for the staff, there's a severe shortage, which is why it sometimes takes a long time to attend to them. They don't take much care when it comes to hygiene (sudden turns and waking them up by shouting). I even doubt the bath and daily moisturizing, given my relative's condition at times (black nails, unwashed face with food stuck to it). The cleaning of common areas is great, but the room leaves a lot to be desired, with the floor always sticky and dirt under the bed for days. The food, from what I've heard, isn't good at all. My relative has lost a lot of weight in a short time. As for medical care, it exists, but you have to monitor them and make sure they don't miss out on pills or don't give them all due to carelessness. When health problems arise, it's better to go to the hospital to resolve them, because the doctor can't solve much. They have patients of different mental health conditions mixed in the wards (with closed wards), and this cognitively deteriorates the more stable ones. They can't separate them because they don't have staff for another ward. A lot of clothing goes missing, no matter how marked it is. Wheelchairs and walkers need a good cleaning. Unfortunately, the end of our lives shouldn't be like this. Therefore, they should change their care and the way they manage the nursing home, because it leaves much to be desired.

We are very happy with the nursing home. My mother-in-law was admitted for a broken sacrum, and although it took her a while to adapt to the new situation, her recovery has been fantastic. The treatment from all the staff, and especially from the center's director, has been very satisfactory. The food could be improved, as it was sometimes not very appetizing, and the speed with which calls were answered from the room. Nevertheless, we are very happy with the treatment and my mother-in-law's progress. We highly recommend it.

I cared for my 93-year-old mother for three months after she tore her meniscus. She couldn't walk and underwent physical therapy. She was able to stand and take steps again. She also established a regular sleep and meal schedule. The place is very nice with excellent facilities. The staff is very friendly, although very busy.

I can't say enough good things about the care and attention the nursing home staff gives my father. The cleanliness of the facility is outstanding, and the residents' hygiene is a daily priority, as is the medical and healthcare assistance. In the two years we've been clients, we've submitted suggestions for things we felt needed improvement, and the director, Maria Dolores, has always addressed our requests and corrected whatever was necessary. We are very grateful to the entire team, and even more so to my father.
