Friendly but underqualified or insufficient staff. Minimal supervision is the priority at this institution, with only a few rounds, apparently, to shower, take them to the dining hall or activities, and for medication. If you bring a dependent person, you'll create a terrible sense of uncertainty, since the doctor only comes once a week and he's not exactly involved. My grandmother contracted several infections at this facility, and seeing that they could have resolved by administering antibiotics early, they prefer to wait "for her to get better," and in the end, you have to take her to the emergency room. Maybe one day she'll fall silent, claiming nothing was wrong, and three weeks later they call us saying she might have broken her hip, adding that she arrives with a severe infection that wasn't previously reported and clearly shows cognitive impairment within a matter of days (she doesn't speak, eat, or walk at all) so we can take her to the emergency room. Likewise, they make decisions on their own regarding the resident's health (they prescribed a feeding tube in the emergency room, but since the doctor wasn't due until Thursday, they didn't put it in, they had to wait and they didn't care if the resident didn't eat or if the resident became even more dehydrated...), not to mention that BE CAREFUL with diabetics, when using basal menus, they rarely personalize it for this case and choose to administer more insulin (type 2 diabetes can be controlled with good eating habits and physical activity, something that was under control until the resident's admission). In conclusion, since the situation forces some of us to admit our loved ones to this type of institution, at least they should receive the treatment they promise and for which we place our trust in them, which clearly is not given. MORE STAFF OR FEWER PLACES, BUT THAT THE ELDERLY WHO ARE THERE RECEIVE EXCELLENT CARE AND IMPROVE COMMUNICATION WITH THEIR FAMILIES, since they see the money from the families' pockets and from the state every month.

Terrible experience. My mother was admitted this summer of 2024 with a mobility device, and she left dehydrated in an ambulance on the way to the hospital. Sure, there are qualified staff, but there are also unqualified, uncommitted, and unskilled staff who are just looking for a job. My mother was on the first floor. One Saturday, I was visiting, and the ward where the elderly are kept was unattended. There's a room at the back, from where the staff monitors the ward. There was a short girl with large glasses, her back to the room, looking at her cell phone. An elderly woman approached her and, instead of asking if she wanted anything, told her to go back to her seat. We were going to get my mother out of the nursing home, but there she ended up in a wheelchair with her eyes closed, and it was too late. They called us and said she wasn't responding, and the ambulance took three hours to arrive. Furthermore, while my mother was already wheelchair-bound, a gold ring was stolen from her. Less prayers and blessings at mealtimes, better care for the elderly, and better professionals are what the nursing home needs.

There are dedicated and professional staff members, but if the elderly person doesn't tell you about the "accidents," they don't tell you. In less than a month, my aunt has "fallen" from her wheelchair while trying to get up and has ingested hand sanitizer. In this second instance, if she hadn't started vomiting during a call, we wouldn't have known. And hours passed before they called the doctor who transferred her from the emergency room. The supervision of the elderly is highly questionable.

After approximately five years of my father-in-law's residency at this institution, our current assessment, unfortunately, does not match our initial one. For us, the psychological service is very poor, the medical service is appalling, and the concern for a resident admitted to the Reina Sofía hospital is nonexistent.

My grandfather lived here; he was treated wonderfully and with great care until his last days. My grandmother decided to stay here because of the excellent care she received. The staff is wonderful, and I am very grateful to everyone for their work.
