The facilities and furnishings of the residence are outdated and inadequate. There are no decent leisure activities, psychomotor exercises, or physiotherapy; sometimes they're even inadequate. The staff, insufficient and overworked, is a mixed bag. Some caregivers are empathetic, kind, and compassionate, aware of the work they do; this is the only thing that allows families to maintain trust in this much-needed nursing home. Others, however, ignorant of the role their job entails, or so I prefer to think, make welcoming and saying goodbye to our grandparents bitter, due to their lack of emotional intelligence towards family members and residents, as well as their lack of willingness to work. On the other hand, whether out of greed or a disconcerting sense of superiority and self-importance—I don't know which—they are precisely the ones who claim to have more than enough staff and care. It's a shame that dignified care for our elders, and our own future, is only within reach of a few; and the rest of us have to settle for what the current, ridiculously inadequate Social Security system offers. When we realize that we will all, hopefully, be those elderly residents someday, it may be too late or no longer sufficient. If you are thinking of placing a family member in this residence, I recommend that you research it and compare it with real experiences before making a decision. To those of you who are on the front lines and treat my grandparents as if they were your own, a million thanks ❤️🩹

My parents have been there for two years, and we try to voice our concerns and complaints so things can improve, but it's impossible. Some of the caregivers—not all, of course—think they'll inherit the place and only see what they want to see. To begin with, they don't have a receptionist. If you call, you have to wait for the caregiver who's cleaning or attending to a resident to finish and come open the door because they do everything themselves. And of course, no complaints because they don't need more staff. Then, the physiotherapist hasn't visited my mother for months, at least not to do the exercises she needs for independence. He's either on vacation or at San Antonio, the other residence that apparently has all the improvements. What's the matter? Don't they pay the same at the one in Bahía Blanca as they do at San Antonio? Their clothes are stored in closets full of stains, the meals are very repetitive, and the same pot is for everyone—nothing special for diabetics, just lots of carbohydrates. And don't even get me started on entertainment for the elderly; they spend all day watching TV or maybe a little time coloring and being asked their names and what day it is. They can't even manage to cheer them up with a Three Kings Day celebration with a Christmas choir, or a carnival, or take them to see a Holy Week procession. Nothing. They have them all drugged up, and of course, that way they don't need any more staff. Let it be clear that this is over. We're going to take these complaints to the appropriate place. These are elderly people, but they have dignity and their families to give voice to everything that happens there. The facilities are so old and dilapidated. Not all the staff are to blame for this neglect and abandonment; some are very professional. But there are three or four of them, and I only wish that if they grow old, they'll be treated the way they treat the elderly now. Karma exists. All those dirty clothes are hanging in the closet. The bloodstain on the beige shirt from when she was vaccinated a month ago is still unwashed. I had to bring it home to wash it. It's shameful. Please, relatives of the residents of the Gafes nursing home in Bahía Blanca, give your loved ones a voice, since they can't speak for themselves.

THE SHADOW, go file a complaint with the Junta de Andalucía Administration at Plaza Asdrubal, in the Dependency Department. The inspectors will respond. Once they respond, send everything to the Andalusian Ombudsman. You can do it through the Andalusian Ombudsman's website. DO IT THIS WAY!!! I DID IT THIS WAY AND THEY NEED MORE COMPLAINTS TO TAKE ACTION.

If I can give it one star, it's because the girls who work there are wonderful, Isa is a whirlwind, but the problem isn't them, it's two people for two floors with 40 elderly residents... Of course, they can't give them the attention they deserve... If I was sure about it before, now I'm even more so... Never. The manager leaves much to be desired :)

Fully accessible for people with reduced mobility, both at the entrance (there is an elevator) and inside the facility and in the bathroom. The staff is very attentive and committed to the residents and families. The manager is extremely professional and tries to ensure that families handle the admission process and check in their belongings and clothing with ease, as these must be marked. The elderly and sick are cared for with great care, and a doctor checks them to ensure they are well. There are two rooms for watching television or simply for family or friends to visit the patient. If you wish, you can attend Mass, take Communion, or go to confession, because a priest visits them. The food is carefully prepared, and each resident is given what they have previously determined to be the best for them. The caregivers are very approachable, kind, and committed to ensuring that they are comfortable and cared for. At mealtimes, if they can still do so alone, they will. However, if they need to be fed, the caregivers do so, putting all their patience and care into helping the elderly person eat. Visits are daily and have fairly extensive and flexible hours. There are services outside the monthly price that can be requested and paid for separately: hairdressing (cuts, coloring, etc.), pedicures or nails, physical therapy. They make you feel like your family member is well cared for in every way. Compared to other places, the price is more affordable, given the same services.
