Our family brought my 89-year-old grandmother, who suffered from advanced dementia, to this nursing home hoping she would be well cared for and supported. However, just four days after her arrival, her condition changed dramatically: a person who, despite her dementia, ate with appetite and maintained conversation, stopped eating, drinking, and communicating completely. During those days, she was not provided with the necessary medical care, nor was it recognized that anything serious was happening. When we inquired, the staff only told us which hospital she would be transferred to "in case of death," without offering any medical alternatives or urgent notification. We ultimately had to take her to the hospital ourselves, where it was confirmed that she had a severe urinary tract infection, dehydration, and very high blood pressure, which required her admission. We are deeply concerned about the lack of medical supervision (she only comes in twice a week) and the limited staffing, especially at night (only one person for all residents). We believe these conditions put vulnerable seniors like my grandmother at risk. We share this experience with the hope that other families can fully evaluate the situation before entrusting their loved ones to this center, and with the hope that care and monitoring protocols will be improved to prevent something like this from happening again.

My mother has been living at Loval for a couple of years. She previously attended the day service, and we have found it to be a center where elderly people, so delicate and vulnerable, receive not only impeccable professional care, but also love and closeness. The environment is very well-maintained, quiet, and bright, which brings peace to both residents and their families. Furthermore, the fact that they have their own kitchen is perfect: the food is varied, high-quality, and tailored to each person's needs, which makes a huge difference in daily life. The staff deserves a special mention: in addition to their total professionalism, they display admirable humanity and dedication. They treat each resident with respect, dedication, and affection. Even so, it is important to remember that the full well-being of seniors is achieved when this quality care is also accompanied by close family support, if possible. Loval is a place that inspires trust and humanity, and where we know my mother is well cared for and safe.
