Opiniones

My aunt, with senile dementia, was a resident for 5 and a half years, until her passing. At all times the treatment and care of my aunt has been excellent by the entire management team, assistants, medical team and services. Excellent and caring. My aunt said she was very well looked after. The relationship with the family has also been excellent at all times. Very good professionals.

At first glance, it seems like an idyllic place, similar to a hotel in the middle of a mountain... but I don't think it has appropriate facilities for the residents, as most of them are very elderly, some of them with dementia and limited mobility. There's a risk of falls, as most access is via stairs, which is dangerous, and I remember only having one elevator (which some don't even know how to use). I don't doubt the professionalism of the nurses, but every time I went to visit my relative (perhaps due to staff shortages or some other reason I don't understand), I felt a lack of safety and care.

I don't understand how the Generalitat (Catalan government) approves a center for people with Alzheimer's or other dementias without stricter safety measures. There are stairs and doors with excessively wide access, which could pose a risk of falls or escapes. I wonder if systems such as self-closing doors (with codes) or sensors that limit access have been considered to minimize these dangers. On the other hand, the staff (nurses, caregivers, cleaners, entertainers, etc.) is excellent, and the center is beautiful, but many of the people there are not on vacation. I think safety in these cases should be a priority.

I had never had any contact with or experience in care homes before. For the past couple of years, my brother has been a resident at the Primitiva Barba Residence in Sant Vicenç dels Horts, which has allowed me to experience a completely new environment. I would like to express my appreciation for the excellent care I have received from the residents there. Since then, my relationship with the various department heads, as well as with the other staff who provide care and are in direct contact with the residents on a daily basis, has been cordial, friendly, simple, and close. I must also highlight the excellent treatment I have received from everyone, and especially from my brother, during the many visits I have made over this time. The staff are incredibly patient and dedicated to understanding each resident's needs and providing the most comfortable and appropriate personalized care, which fosters positive relationships and improves the overall experience for everyone. On the other hand, I would like to emphasize that I have always received timely and accurate information on any issue that has arisen concerning my brother's well-being, allowing us to work together to find the best possible solution as quickly as possible. He has a high degree of disability and dependency, requiring specialized care. I consider all of this vitally important, as the primary concern of both the Residence and the families themselves must be to provide the best possible care and attention to all our loved ones who reside there. I would also like to mention the location. Although public transportation is inadequate, this contrasts sharply with the wonderful and pleasant natural surroundings, free from the inconveniences of city life. The residence boasts landscaped outdoor areas and a magnificent, well-equipped terrace with expansive views, which helps to boost the residents' spirits and where family members also spend very enjoyable time with them during our visits. Occasionally, festive outdoor events are held for the residents, in which both staff and family members participate. This fosters exchanges of opinions, comments, and friendships that benefit everyone. Also, those of us who observe from the outside with the best intentions of contributing may often assume that some things should be improved according to our judgment. On this point, I can say that whenever I have made an observation or suggestion, they have always studied its feasibility, reaching agreements and, of course, respecting all the reasoning presented. Therefore, given my experience with a subject I was completely unfamiliar with, I have discovered the human warmth and support offered to those who need these services, and I wholeheartedly recommend this Residence.

It is a disgrace to the Center, unhappy workers, with problems between them, this causes a lot of staff turnover, and you never really get to know anyone, my mother was there for a year, in JULY I had to kick her out, since one of the geriatric nurses had a very unpleasant altercation, since she put her hand on my mother .... and what does the management of the Center do? agree with the worker, because they doubt that that lady (if you can call her that) ... has done anything, since my mother has character and it is possible that she is exaggerating, from that moment on they treated my mother like a "stinker", her birthday was on August 2nd and they didn't even congratulate her, at one of the breakfasts, my mother drops a piece of toast in her coffee, my mother asks for a spoon, and the geriatric nurse in question takes the glass away from her and says, Ale! you're not having breakfast anymore .... and things like that with this character, whatever you want. My mother wasn't the only one, of course, but the CENTER doesn't do anything... (shameful...) so if you have family there... be careful!!! And if you're looking for a nursing home... this isn't the one!!! I have to thank Sonia and Josefina.
